About ACANA Highest Protein Dry Dog Food

ACANA Singles Limited Ingredient

Limited ingredient diets shouldn’t mean less meat. Ideal for food-sensitive or picky dogs, ACANA’s Singles recipes are made with 65% single-source animal protein, using meats like grass-fed lamb, free-run turkey, Yorkshire pork or ranch-raised beef.

Go Beyond the 1st Ingredient

With quality proteins like fresh or raw free-run poultry, grass-fed meats, freshwater and saltwater fish, and cage-free eggs, all of ACANA’s recipes are crafted with special care. They go beyond the first ingredient for wholesome goodness, using fresh refrigerated ingredients and raw ingredients frozen at the peak of freshness, with no added soy, corn, tapioca or wheat.

Thoughtfully Crafted from Start to Finish

*Approximate and derived from the unprocessed state of the ingredients.

*Fresh vegetables, fruit and botanicals, plus vitamins, minerals, probiotics and natural preservatives complete the nutritional profile.

*ACANA never adds any artificial flavors, colors or preservatives to their recipes.

ACANA’s Commitment To You

ACANA goes above and beyond in their commitment to quality, with meat-rich, balanced recipes made from carefully sourced ingredients.

The first two ingredients in every recipe are fresh or raw meat, poultry or fish.

ACANA uses a trusted network of farmers, ranchers and fishers to source the wholesome foods for their recipes.

Protein-rich animal ingredients complemented by fresh vegetables, fruit and botanicals provide balanced nutrition.

A track-and-trace system that goes beyond food industry standards helps ensure safety, quality and transparency in every batch.

Try Rotational Feeding

Keep things exciting at mealtime by rotating the ACANA recipes you feed your dog. This will allow your best friend to enjoy a variety of animal proteins in delicious and nourishing new flavors. Don’t transition too abruptly, though—start by replacing 25% of the old food with the new recipe and gradually increase the amount over time. Puppies are recommended to remain on puppy diets.

ACANA goes beyond the first ingredient in their foods, ensuring quality down to the very last ingredient on the label. From limited ingredient diets to recipes for all the stages of life, they take great care to provide the balanced, wholesome nutrition your pet needs for a long and happy life. Try ACANA and go beyond what you thought pet food could be.

My Dog Turns His Nose Up At It

I know that this is a good quality food. I fed it to both my Dobies a couple of years ago and they ate it with no problems that I remember. I decided to try it again with my remaining Dobie. He turns his nose up at it. So now I have a nearly full bag of very expensive dog food that I can't use. I don't know if it's the food or the dog.

Excellent food!

I have a beagle with some pretty crazy food allergies, he can’t have peas or rice. This is one of the few foods on the market that doesn’t have peas in it! I feed it to my other three too and they all love it!

something changed

I have been feeding the Acana Singles single protein Duck & Pear and Lamb & Apple formulas for about 8 months now. I had to switch to a single protein food due to stomach issues and food allergies with one of my Boston Terriers. They have eaten this food readily and heartily until the most recent bag of each. I noticed the color was different with each formula. I put it in their bowls and 5 of my 6 dogs turned their noses up and walked away. I figured ok, I ordered 2 bags of each, so I opened the other 2 bags. Same thing. The color was darker and when I put it in their bowls the refused it. I ended up ordering American Journey Limited ingredient and they are back to eating heartily. While I waited for the new food to arrive I had to mix the Acana with canned food at a rate of half Acana and half canned and I had to literally smash the canned food into the Acana so it covered every piece in order for them to eat it. I am extremely disappointed in the Acana. Something has been changed in the food. And at $78.00 a bag for 4 bags, that was a huge expense to shell out only to find something changed and the dogs won’t eat it. I never minded the price when they enjoyed it so much. But $300.00 for 4 bags that they won’t touch, I can’t justify that and will no longer be buying Acana.

Love this food

My mom has had me on the same brand dog food since I was rescued (3 long years ago). They have discontinued my product a few times but mom was loyal to the brand and kept finding a way. She currently has me on Lamb & Oatmeal and decided enough is enough. YAY for me!! I’m transitioning and have decided that I only want Duck & Pears. Mom says I’m spoiled bc I pick the old kibble out of my bowl and leave it in the floor. I LOVE THIS FOOD!!! Thanks mom!

Mimi loves Acana Duck & Pear

Mimi, who is a 7 year old Briard, has been fed two cups of Acana Duck & Pear since she was a year old. She loves it, and thrives on it. We had previously fed her Origen puppy food, but we found it was too rich for her, gradually switched Origen brands until we finally hit on this Acana product that she digests well.

Acana Solved the Problem

Our Boston Terrier has been on Acana or Orijen since we got her three years ago. While I love these brands, she licked her feet quite a bit on Orijen. I put her on the Acana Singles and no more licking. She loves the Duck and Pear. It may have been the fish in the Orijen that she was sensitive to. I’m glad I didn’t have to change brands because they are the best!
