will this be harmful to fish tanks

The vapor (carrying ADAPTIL “comforting messages”) rises in a column of warm air above the diffuser. If this rising air is blocked (e.g. under a shelf, table, furniture) the vapor may re-condense and leave a visible mark.)

The concept of this makes total sense

I wanted to love this for separation anxiety in my pack while I was away, but I wasn’t able to observe any notable difference in their behavior while I was at home

Melted plastic

I had purchased this item about 6 years ago when we rescued a dog and it worked great. Somehow over the years that diffuser was discarded or lost. This past year

I had purchased this item about 6 years ago when we rescued a dog and it worked great. Somehow over the years that diffuser was discarded or lost. This past year I purchased a new diffuser set to help our new rescue dog adapt. Everything when fine with the oil that came with the set. However, when that ran out and I replace the oil canister with a refill, it filled the house with an overwhelming smell of melting plastic. I tried several different outlet in our home, all with the same result. I contacted Chewy and they graciously sent me a free kit, thinking that the one I got may be defective. Unfortunately, the exact same thing happen, expect right away this time. We didn't even get through the oil that was provided with the kit. I'm not sure what changed over the years, but we have had 2 of these units basically melt, despite rotating outlet and even tried not leaving them plugged in all the time.

Started to catch on fire

We bought as a recommendation from our vet. Had it plugged in for around 10 days. I started smelling this weird smell this afternoon that smelled like strong burning

We bought as a recommendation from our vet. Had it plugged in for around 10 days. I started smelling this weird smell this afternoon that smelled like strong burning plastic. After frantically running around my house I found smoke coming out of the device! I hurried up and unplugged it then threw it outside in the snow. We were so lucky someone was home when it happened!

The entire family sleeps better!

Our dog would wake up in the middle of the night and bark at any little noise! Now he sleeps soundly through the night. I am certain it is thanks to the diffuser

Our dog would wake up in the middle of the night and bark at any little noise! Now he sleeps soundly through the night. I am certain it is thanks to the diffuser. The first time the diffuser ran out we noticed because our dog started waking up in the middle of the night again. After we plugged in the refill, the dog (and the rest of the house) slept soundly again. We also got him a new crate. He refused to try out the new crate despite treats and all other positive reinforcement. We plugged a diffuser in an outlet nearby and now it’s his favorite spot in the living room. He didn’t need any treats or encouragement. We just plugged the diffuser in and he went in all on his own. We use smart plugs to turn the diffusers in different rooms on/off before bed time to conserve.

Refills not available

I wish I would have realized Chewy didn’t sell the refills for this item before I purchased it. I can’t say if it’s helping. It’s certainly not causing harm. But

I have a dog who was gaving crate anxiety at night She would bark when she fist got into her crate at bedtime. I plugged this in behind her crate and noticed a difference within about 4 days. She no longer vocalizes when crated and is happy and eager to go to bed.

Didn’t hurt but didn’t help. The dog still consistently destroys a few things when we leave. I honestly don’t see any difference in him.
