Can I also feed this to my Roo’s? Or will the calcium content be to high? Is there an alternative (like an all-flock feed) if calcium content is too high for Roo’s?

Answer by ChewyJul 30, 2021
Although feeding Egg Maker to mature roosters isn’t ideal since the feed is higher in calcium than their requirement, they will be fine consuming a layer feed such as Egg Maker. However, this is only true for mature roosters. Growing roosters, just like growing hens, should not be fed a layer feed. For growing laying hens and roosters we need to consider a starter/grower feed to fulfill their requirements.

worth it!

Clucking good

Chickens pretty much eat anything, but my egg count did increase. Not sure if it was the Pen Pals Egg Maker Chicken Feed or the 4way I mixed with it to help keep them warm. Too bad it is double the price of regular food, not sure if the hubby will let me spend that much again.

POWDER not crumble

This states its crumble....I dont know if it was the shipping process or that the manufacturer just processes it too fine but this is a "sand" consistency.

I have been using this feed for my chickens from the local store for the past few months and they seem to really like it. It was time to get more, but I figured since it is 1-3 days I could just order it here. I am currently on day 5 since I placed my order and it keeps getting pushed back as to when it will arrive. I will have to go to the store to buy some, which I was trying to avoid during COVID. Product is good, but don't expect it to come right away.

My chickens definitely enjoyed this feed. I am not sure if this was a feed or the fact i also gave them oyester shells that month they have been laying weel and the one hen that did lay a thin shelled eggs and ate her feathers was laying much better shelled eggs those month and laid regularly.
