I recieved American Journey's soft baked all-natural dog treats, chicken recipe. I am very happy to see the first 3 ingredients were chicken, potatos and pea flour. Both my dog and my cat, loved it! They both already loved American journey's other treats (cat treats) so it was not too surprising my dog was all over them. As he is a Great Pyrenees, it is no secret he is incredibly stubborn. Even if i have something he wants, he will not sit unless asked dozens of times. After one of these cookies, i got him to sit AND lay down, USING HAND MOTIONS!! That is such a high level of obedience, i never thought i'd see the day! And I know all cat parents say their cats are the pickest eaters ever, but i swear to you, she is perfect combination of incredibly picky, strong willed, and spoiled rotten. She will only eat something if she gets to pick the flavor, so of course, she needs options. When i laid this out with her usual selection, she chose the American journey dog treats first, every time. It is amazing how when something is good for them, my 2 kids seem to choose the better option every time. They look good and smell natural. They don't make either of my pets breath stink, and they don't crumble and create a mess. I will be getting these again!
Both of my dogs (4 year old Mix, 13 year old Lab) both loved the American Journey Soft Baked Treats - Chicken Recipe Flavor. The first thing I noticed were the real ingredients baked into the treats. It was nice to see chicken as the first ingredient as well. The treats are soft but not too soft. The treats are a little bigger than a quarter. This was an 8oz bag and there were about 24 treats in the bag. Both dogs were looking for more as soon as they were done with the one I gave them. My senior dog, who sometimes has a tough time chewing harder treats seemed to enjoy these and had no trouble eating it. Would definitely recommend these treats!
My pup is a 1 year old staffie mix with a lot of allergies. I was stoked to see that these Soft Baked Chicken Recipe treats have a limited amount of recognizable, pronounceable ingredients; in fact, the top 3 are chicken, potatoes, and pea flour. She immediately came to me when she heard the bag open. I broke one apart to find the treat soft like an oatmeal cookie and full of peas, just like a fresh chocolate chip cookie might look like. She was laser focused on the treat as I asked her for a “high 5” and rewarded her. It was a hit! The treats are big enough that I’ll be breaking a couple of them up later into smaller pieces for her snuffle mat dessert treat. I’m happy she likes them, and happier that they aren’t full of unnecessary dyes or non-nutritional fillers.
These all-natural dog treats were a hit with our furry friends (both our golden retriever and our corgi mix)– they absolutely loved the taste! However, it's worth noting that these treats are on the higher side in terms of calories at 38kcals per treat, where as others i buy tend to fall in the 20-27kcal range. The crumbly texture can lead to a bit of a mess for smaller dogs as our corgi mix ended up with peices everywhere he was scrambling to get to lest the big dog get to them first. Overall, a good option for pups with a healthy appetite and a taste for natural goodness, but moderation might be key due to the calorie content.
My pup absolutely loves these chicken flavored Soft Baked treats! She's a total begger for treats, but for these she begs EXTRA hard! They don't smell gross or chemically like plenty of other dog treats, and you can see whole peas and carrot chunks in there. Theyre soft and easy to crumble into smaller pieces to use a high-value reward for training. Plus the bag is resealable to keep them fresh. In regard to serving size, it says on the bag that each treat is 38kcal, but i do wish it gave a recommended max serving size based on size/weight of the dog.
My dog loved the American Journey Soft Baked Chicken Treats. They were a little harder than I thought they would be but my senior dog had no problem chewing them with her sensitive teeth. She was begging for more after trying them. They are full of healthy ingredients so I don’t feel bad rewarding her with them. They are also wheat free so anyone with an allergy, like myself, doesn’t have to worry about touching them and having a reaction.
I opened this package to examine and they were soft and you can actually see the peas in them. I let my older pups give it a go first. My older corgi is very picky and so he was gently trying it in pieces. He has decided they are a favorite and came back for more. The other older ladies are chihuahuas and a whole one is a bit to big for them but they very much approved. Now my younuns loved them too. But its nice to find something the older ones can eat with no issues that they like.
As soon as I received the Soft Baked Chicken, I gave both of my dogs one. Rusty put on the floor and sniffed it. I picked it up and gave it to him again. Kody sat with it in his mouth for a bit. They both eventually ate them. The next day I offered the treats to them again after going for their walk, as I usually give them a treat for being good. Both of them would not accept the treat. The same thing happened the next day when I gave them another try. Unfortunately, it's a thumbs down from both my dogs.
I have been using these as everyday treats for my Tibetan terrier and he loves them more than any other treat. He is a well behaved dog, and knows not to jump on the counter but he can’t contain his excitement for these and often times I catch him with his paws on the counter sniffing for them. They are bite size, that requires a few chews. I really like that they have real ingredients you can actually see. Already purchased more chicken and beef.
These treats are soft and chewy, delicious and worth begging for. Great ingredients, nothing artificial, grain free but not organic. They are large sized treats and at 38 calories each, I break them in half even for a 60# very active young Aussie. They arrived in a CHEWY box and was immediately recognized by Bleu. I knocked off 1 star because of the high calory rating.
