In July, someone asked where American journey food is made. The answer was made here that the recipes were created in California. Where is the actual food actually made not just the recipes? Thank you.
Answer by ChewyDec 13, 2018
American Journey is exclusively made for and distributed by Chewy! We work closely with production partners to create and develop our own recipes and oversee production to ensure it adheres to our quality standards. American Journey's grain-free dog food is produced in our partner facilities, located in Kansas.

Are all of the ingredients sourced in USA? If not, what countries do they come from?
Answer by ChewyMar 16, 2018
American Journey will source from reputable suppliers in the US and worldwide, dependent upon availability.

What type of fish is used for the fish oil?
Answer by ChewyAug 01, 2017
The fish oil is a blend and can vary depending on the season. The blend can include rockfish, sole, flounder, and pollock.

Is this good for dogs with food allergies and sensitive stomachs? Also are the bites very big? My girl has problems with big bites sometimes.
Answer by ChewyMay 21, 2018
This limited ingredient dog food has a single animal protein source, and is also grain-free, so it makes a great option for dogs that may experience itchy skin and have a sensitive stomach. The size of the kibble is approximately 0.5 x 0.2 inches (smaller than a dime).

I’m impressed

I have a lab pit bull mix and a chihuahua and both of them have some sort of digestive problem or skin issues. I have tried sooo many different foods. My pit lab mix is very picky and will eat something the first few days and then not want it anymore. It is very frustrating. So when I saw this I decided to try it since both of my dogs LOVE duck jerky treats. This is the first time she has actually been excited to eat and doesn’t leave her bowl sitting for a day. I am beyond happy. They are both pooping a lot on this food but I am hoping it has something to do with the change of food and this being the 2nd grain free food I have given them in a long time. I don’t personally like grain free. I think some grains aren’t bad. But I won’t buy cheap food either. If this works out for her I honestly don’t care anymore. This will be the food. I have always liked American journey. In my opinion it is a solid brand. Chewy is amazing also!

My dog loves it

My dog is allergic to most meat proteins that I’ve had her try a plant based ootion for a few months. It didn’t cause any skin issues but it frequently upsets her stomach and her stool was always soft. Switched to this and she’s excited to eat it, no allergic reaction and the stool looks normal. She eats more now than she ever did!

Good Food!

My dog really enjoys this food and is one of the few foods he will willing eat dry. We’ve had no adverse reactions after switching over to this food and my 100lb Pitbull mix is healthy. The kibble is a normal size, about the size of a dime, and doesn’t have a bad odor. I add glucosamine, salmon oil, and probiotics to his food as well and it mixes well.

Dog not very interested

When our usual LID dry food wasn't available, I tried this brand and mixed in with his usual Blue Buffalo. He would pick through it and eat this last. Once we were through phasing into this brand, he's just not that excited about his meal. Hank is a 10.5# Chihuahua mix and is pretty excited about food but this flavor didn't suit him. I'm sure the quality is fine.

Novel Protein

My lab is on a special diet for perianal fistula treatment and only allowed to have her prescription dog food, which she isn’t fond of, and novel proteins. She loves loves loves this food mixed with her prescription food. Would highly recommend trying this.

Good so far

I switched to this food because my dog has been scratching a lot and has trouble with her bowels. Since it has flax and omega 3 in it, I thought it would help with her itching and soothe her skin. She seems to be scratching less and likes the food.

Great product

Had to do DNA allergy test for my dog and discovered he was allergic to most of the ingredients in most regular dog food, even the high end ones for sensitivities. After hours of research found this one. He is not sensitive to any of the ingredients. He is doing good and my other dogs love it too!

Good quality for a good price

My one dog is allergic to many meat sources so this really fits her diet perfectly. I give the canned and the dry version and both dogs love it. The price is very good for the quality. I would like to know where and what plant they're made in though.

Great Food

My dog, pretzel, love this food! he would actually eat it. I did find a cheaper alternative that he enjoyed so i will be sticking with that but if i ever find my dog doesn't like a food this is what lean on because he really enjoys it. I just don't always want to spend a lot on food.

Dogs like it

I was trying a limited ingredient food because of skin problems and ear yeast infections. It was fish and potato and smelled awful. We tried this and it smells good, is a little less expensive. Dogs like it, and allergies are better.
