These feeding recommendations show a suggested daily amount of food to be fed based upon weight and activity level. Because these and other factors can influence the amount of food your dog requires, adjustments may be required until the desired condition is obtained. If you have any feeding questions, please visit our website at AmericanNaturalPremium.com. Please remember to have fresh, clean water available at all times.
When switching to an American Natural Premium Formula, a gradually transition is recommended, but not required. Start by adding a small amount of American Natural Premium pet food to your dog's current diet while reducing the amount of the current diet. Increase the amount of American Natural Premium for 7 - 10 days until the transition is complete. For sensitive dogs, we recommend a 10-14 day transition.
This food is one of few that my dog with a flax allergy can eat. It started as a good and affordable option but in less than a year the cost of this food has increased over 30%, which seems like an excessive increase even in these times.
wanted a chicken and brown rice formula without peas in it and I found this and it is great. My dog loves it. My only issue and it is not a big one is that it comes in a 33lb bag but it is well worth the price.
I have 4 dogs. 1 dog has a sensitive stomach and one has allergies. I thought this would be good for both based on the ingredients and reviews, but not 1 of them will touch this food.
I couldn't afford the hills prescription dog food anymore so I wrote down the ingredients and went on a hunt to find something similar, I found a blog of someone doing the same thing ....she made a huge list and this was on there, this replaced hills gi digestive, other dog foods would make my dog sick, she would burp up her food and barf it constantly with any other food..... so glad I found a comparable food to her old prescription, my dog is a 4 year old terrier mix about 21lbs and this has lasted her like 10 months lol barely buying another bag now
My Shar Pei has many food allergies. I was scared to try a new brand after buying Blue Buffalo for years. My dog has potato and flaxseed allergies. He eats all of this food. First feeding, he ate all the food and wanted more. Never seen that happen. He now loves meal time. No more itching and chewing at paws. This food is a lifesaver.
This food was perfect for my dogs, but is very hard to find. It does not contain flaxseed, legumes, or ground sorghum.
Terrific dog food! No salmon, no peas, no added yeast, no potatoes, legumes, has grains, and taurine! The Doberman breed is allergic to many ingredients in food, this company has nailed a quality food, no gas or stomach upset, great shiny coats, firm stool! If your Dobi has food allergies feed this food!
Reasonably priced for someone who is now on a fixed income. Does have rice, so not grain free. So far my dogs seem to like it. Wish they made this exact same recipe with beef and maybe add taurine to both so I could alternate between the two when my dogs get bored with the same ol' thing day after day.
I'd been researching for legume and potato free food and came across this one. Charlie was on lot's of different grain-free foods (Merrick, Wellness, Blue Buffalo, Taste of the Wild) and most recently on Canidae Chicken and Rice (switched to grain due to concerns over his heart, he's 8 and had been on grain free all his life) and he had room clearing farts. Since day one with ANP Chicken and Rice all those emissions ceased. He loves it and completely ignores us while he is woofing it all down. So far so good!
I have four dogs, two are regular chow hounds and two of them are free feeders. It can be difficult to monitor them during feeding times becuase of my busy schedule, which leads to one or more of my dogs stealing food from the others, which ultimately leads to weight gains in two of my dogs. With this food all four of my dogs now eat their food when it is served to them becuase of how much they like it! I tried this food because it doesn't add peas and legumes in addition to it being lower in fat. I'm highly satisfied and will be using this food in the future!
