To remove a sanding drum: depress collet release button while turning collet nut counter-clockwise using wrench provided until loose. Remove sanding drum.
To insert a new sanding drum: insert the sanding drum into the collet. Depress collet release button while turning collet nut clockwise until it locks into place. Using wrench provided, turn collet nut clockwise until sanding drum is tight. To replace a sanding band, loosen the screw (using the small screwdriver tip on the wrench provided) to contract the drum and slide the old band off. Slide the new sanding band on, and expand the drum by tightening the screw again.
IMPORTANT: Before each use, check that the drum is sufficiently expanded to secure the band during use. If band is loose during operation, it may be thrown from grinder and cause injury.

Replacement rods for grinder

The pic clearly shows the grinder, so I bought this, then realized it was only the replacements so I ordered the grinder that goes with these and it doesn't work! Speed 2 doesn't work, at all, and speed one barely rotates and not at all once it touched the nail! So this purchase was wasted! All because the description for this item doesn't make it clear its ONLY the replacements!

I groom a few dogs. Maybe 5 or 6 a week. This was the first replacement pack I've had to buy in about 5 months. The little rounds last a while in my opinion. I noticed some people saying they couldn't get them to fit. In the little kit, there is a screwdriver type tool. Slide the sandpaper onto the tool then you screw the top screw tighter and it expands the drum. Then it should be snug! I hoped I helped someone. (:

I was a dog bather/groomer about 4 years ago when I first bought the grinder. Still works great and this is the fittest replacement kit I've had to buy. Though only used it for the last 3 years on personal, friend and family dogs.

I like it but, I want a Diamond head

I really like the grinder but, I just would like to be able to get the Diamond head instead of the sandpaper. Cannot find them anywhere. Mine will wear out at some point.

Terrible assembly instructions

First item was defective. Chewy excellent replacement with no problems. Second item I will need someone wiser than I to get it assembled to work. There's no way I can figure to get the grinder stem in the unit to work still. With family coming someone will be able to get this thing working. It's ideal for my small dog but only if I can get it to work.

Trimming the nails of my Cane Corso has always been a monumental challenge and often became a flat out "MMA" struggle ~ with a dog who outweighs me and is far stronger than I am! The Andis Pet Nail Grinder not only took away the fear of "quicking" my dog's black, lion-like "talons" but she actually seems to enjoy her pedicure now! It's quiet, two speed motor runs cool and efficiently, and now I trim her nails effortlessly, usually once a week. So glad I can retire from the MMA "cage fighting" that trimming her nails used to be! I highly recommend this product!

Everything is awesome except sanding replacement rounds don't fit and they just fly off!
