BugLyte is not recommended for pregnant or lactating mares. All of the components of Buglyte are natural and safe, but because of the immaturity of the intestinal tract, it is recommended to wait until 4 months of age before starting this supplement in foals.

My horse was scratching himself to death from some sort of insect that was biting him, possibly midges or something. The vet prescribed an antihistamine which only helped minimally. Decided to give Buglyte a try and it seems to be helping, as I rarely see him rubbing himself anymore. I Can’t say for sure that this is what has made the difference, but I’ll keep feeding it to him as long as he’s not rubbing and scratching himself. FYI, he’s been on it now going on 5 years!

It does seem to help keep the flies off the horses a bit, but it doesn't seem to work against gnats or mosquitoes. My horses eat it no problem when its mixed into

It does seem to help keep the flies off the horses a bit, but it doesn't seem to work against gnats or mosquitoes. My horses eat it no problem when its mixed into their grain, but I think it smells unpleasant, and I find thats it's really dusty. I wasn't blown away, but it did seem to help slightly with the flies.

Not palatable

My horses hate the taste :( I've tried mixing it with alfalfa cubes, they still won't eat it all. Interesting it has DE in it as many people believe it can cause

My horses hate the taste :( I've tried mixing it with alfalfa cubes, they still won't eat it all. Interesting it has DE in it as many people believe it can cause respiratory issues. Not sure how to make the horses like it better.

Not effective but not objectionable

My mares ate it happily but I’ve not noticed ANY reduction of gnats, flys or biting flys after 2 weeks of loading does. Maybe it takes a while??

Quick relief

Works good on gnats and flies

We've been using it about a week, doing good so far esp. on gnats around their faces. Still a few flies, but much less.
