API MELAFIX will treat your fish’s symptoms in freshwater and saltwater aquariums. If you are treating fish in a marine or saltwater aquarium, dose with API MARINE MELAFIX.
Many disease symptoms will be clearly visible, such as white streaks, lesions, protruding eyes, and other unusual marks or spots on your fish. If you suspect your fish has a disease, it will fall under the categories of fungal, parasitic, or bacterial. One way to diagnose is by matching fish symptoms to the description of a wide range of API medications, which include treatments specific to Ich disease, Betta fish, and various common symptoms (hole-in-the-head, eye cloud, fin & tail rot, etc.)
API MELAFIX is safe for delicate fish species, all marine fish, and reef aquariums, while Bettafix is specifically formulated for Betta fish.
API MELAFIX heals bacterial infections such as fin & tail rot, eye cloud, popeye, body slime, and mouth fungus. As a general note, all API medications can be used in conjunction with each other safely, as long as you are able to follow the directions for both during treatment. We would not recommend using more than two medications at a time unless you are certain of the diagnosis of multiple ailments, so that you can tell which medications are working or not working while troubleshooting a stubborn symptom or disease.
It is normal to see some foaming when using API MELAFIX, and it is not harmful as long as the proper doses were given. In terms of duration, the foaming of this product can last a variable amount of time depending on what is dissolved in the water. Water that contains a lot of dissolved organics or proteins can experience more foaming that lasts for long periods of time, but in general, if foaming lasts more than a week after discontinuing the treatment, we would recommend more frequent water changes and the addition of Activated Carbon or Bio-Chem Zorb in order to eliminate any remaining medication. Make sure that skimmers are turned off during treatment, as this would contribute to excessive foaming. It may be prudent to turn the skimmer pump flow down when it is restarted after treatment, to account for medication residues until they clear from the system.

Waste of money. Did nothing. Lost a koi to fin rot treated pond for 7 days And way too much money No results. So I used Proform C and great results everyone is back to their old self
This product worked really well in my pond and all the fish look more colorful and healthy.
This product is very easy to use, but it really creates a lot of foam. The foam is very slow to disappear. I don’t know yet if it will be effective in treating loss of scales on one of my koi. A small amount of this product goes a long way.
Simply put- it works. If your fish look sick then treat your tank (pond in my case) by putting this in the water at recommended dosages. Follow the instructions and voila! Good for general issues. I use it (with Pimafix) when my fish look stressed to stop an infection before it gets started or worse.
This product help cure my over 1k gallon pond within a week, takes more than one bottle of course. Started seeing progress within three days of treatment.
Use it all the time .... have happy healthy fish, keeps water clear I use there other products to.
