What is the difference between pond salt and aquarium salt ? It seems to be the same thing. Can it be used in my freshwater aquariums? If not why ?

Aquarium salt and Pond salt are the same thing. They can be used interchangeably. This salt is formulated for freshwater pond environments. For freshwater aquariums, the API Freshwater Aquarium Salt is recommended.

I have a koi pond that is approx 10k sqft. Do you sell this salt in larger quantities?

This pond salt is available in a 4.4 lb carton that treats up to 550 gallons of pond water and a 9.6 lb bottle that treats up to 1200 gallons of pond water. Varieties are available just below the price of the product.

For ponds with plants, add 1¼ cups of API Pond Salt for each 100 US gallons of pond water. For ponds without plants, add 2½ cups of API Pond Salt for each 100 gallons of pond water.

Is it safe to use this in my koi pond if I have a frog?

Good product

The salt if fine but some of the cartons split open during shipping so I loose some salt. It used to come in plastic containers which did not get damaged.

Damaged box

Nothing wrong with product but it was not packaged well. It had dents/rips on both sides & pond salt was spilled throughout the box.

When I first opened my fish pond I had problems with algae and sometimes disease. Since using this with every water change (3/4 water removal) I have had clear

When I first opened my fish pond I had problems with algae and sometimes disease. Since using this with every water change (3/4 water removal) I have had clear water and healthy fish. I have a pump, but only need to change the filter every other month or so. We have a canopy over the pond to keep the temperature from getting too hot and that, combined with the salt has cut down greatly on algae.
