Description

Treat your tap water and help to provide a safe environment for your fish with API Tap Water Conditioner. Chlorine and heavy metals found in tap water can cause gill damage, breathing difficulty, stress and can ultimately hurt or kill your fish. Tap water also contains ammonia-causing chloramines, which can also be toxic. API Tap Water Conditioner helps to remove these toxins from tap water. Because it is super concentrated, you only need one teaspoon to treat 10 gallons. Best of all, it's safe for all aquatic life and can be used in both fresh and salt water. Use during start-up or when changing water to keep your tank pristine.

Key Benefits
  • Helps to remove chlorine, chloramines and detoxifies heavy metals.
  • Super concentrated, so you will only need one 1 ml to treat gallons.
  • Safe for all aquatic and can be used in both fresh and salt water.
  • Use during aquarium set up, water changes and adding fish.
  • Tap water must be treated before adding fish to make sure they remain healthy.
Precautions

HAZARDS TO HUMANS AND ANIMALS: Heavy metals, such as copper, lead and zinc, can be found in most tap water supplies. These metals are toxic to tropical fish. So treat the aquarium when adding tape water. Keep out of reach of children.

Special Note

  • 8-oz bottle treats up to 4730 gallons.
  • 16-oz bottle treats up to 9460 gallons.
  • 1-gal treats up to 76000 gallons.

FAQ

Does API TAP WATER CONDITIONER have an expiration date?

The expiration date is typically 1-2 years from purchase, and will have a specific date printed on the packaging of API TAP WATER CONDITIONER. It will be most effective within that timeframe.

How does API TAP WATER CONDITIONER work?

API TAP WATER CONDITIONER is a dechlorinator that works to eliminate harmful chlorine, chloramines, and heavy metals from the tap water you add to your aquarium, making it a safe and livable environment for your fish.

Can I use API STRESS COAT with this product?

API STRESS COAT is safe for use with all other API products, and acts as a dechlorinator with the added benefit of soothing Aloe Vera for stressed or sick fish. This makes API STRESS COAT great for water changes and cleaning, both of which may initially distress your fish.

What is the risk if I pour more than what I need?

You can safely dose 2-3 times the directed amount of API STRESS COAT to neutralize higher levels of chlorine or chloramines. If you accidentally add more treatment, a partial (25%) water change should be completed.

    Water for plants

By Lcrems on Jun 9, 2021

I use it to prep tap water for use on all my indoor plants, especially the jewel orchids. Previously used the API heavy metal neutralizer for my small fish pond with plants. Same effect, may the same product? Either way, both seem to work well, fish and plant are thriving.

    Tried and True!

By easttexasbirdman on Apr 17, 2021

I have both a 150 gallon reef tank and a 50 gallon planted, freshwater tank. For the reef tank I make rodi water, but for my freshwater tank I've always had better luck using tap water. API tap water conditioner gives me confidence my water is free of chorine and chloramine when I do water changes. Highly recommended!

    Great purchase

By Katie on Mar 12, 2021

I needed more water conditioner for my dorm's 55 gallon goldfish lobby tank. I usually buy water conditioner in smaller bottles because cost is crazy at some of the independent pet stores around me, but buying off of Chewy for this size was surprisingly cost effective. Would recommend this product.
