I purchased 2 of these over 10 years ago and they are still doing their job. I heat them in MY microwave for 6 MINUTES & 4 SECONDS and they come out TOASTY WARM. I put one under a towel in a cardboard box and the other under a towel in a laundry basket on my back patio. My outdoor ferals wait for me to put these out every night. I put them out and later I look out my sliding glass door and see at least 2 of my ferals in each container. I have never timed how long they stay warm, however, since the feral cats stay in the box and basket a long time I have to assume they stay warm for quite some time. The only draw back is these are very hard no matter if they are hot or cold, however, since my feral cats curl up around them they seem to do fine. I'm happy I purchased them. CHECK the DIRECTIONS for heating them as the TIME DEPENDS on the WATTAGE of YOUR microwave. I heat mine 45 SECONDS LONGER than recommended and the disc do just fine and are toasty warm.
Found four week old kitten in yard and this worked perfectly to help keep him warm.
Bought these for use in veterinary clinic, have had similar products. First one warped on first use, second one ruptured after only a couple uses.
The heating pad is made of hard plastic! Good luck getting your furbaby to sleep on it.
Within the first hour, Baker, a.k.a. Baker Baker troublemaker, was all over this disk. He said to tell you 10 stars.
I like my purchases but i was expecting to be able to use a discount coupon! I haven’t received one as of yet. I was sent a discount card with a certain % off, but it has been expired from September 2021, & that was in December. I was told wheni spoke to your representative that i’d receive a more current discount card. I couldn’t wait because I’d just gotten 2 - 3 month old Sphynx kittens & they needed a warmth pod & other items. I couldn’t save some money off the discount card i tried to use want old! I wondered how did that happened? Crazy, just crazy! I received it the week before i tried to use it, i was told it expired. When i looked at the expiration date, sure enough it expired in September!!! Thank for listening to me vent. Happy New Year anyway! Kate.
We have used these type warmers for many years. This is the first time we bought this brand. It heats up nicely in the microwave for 4 minutes. We use it to help keep feral outside cats halfway warm in their beds. With body contact the heating cushion retains heat for several hours.
Microwave cushion is NOT a cushion. It is as solid as a plastic device can be, though I assume it is filled with gel. It heats and holds the heat as advertised, but my 8 year old dog does NOT like the hard lump in her bed. She won't even get in the bed if it is in it. Disappointing, as she is an HHL Chinese Crested (hairy-hairless). Therefore, this was a waste of $$. However, it may work well for a pup not so discerning. lol
Although I don;t have to heat this one as long as the one I had, it does the trick. It keeps my feral cat outside warm most of the nigt.
I purchased this item for a feral cat that I have a dog house to protect. It is large, he us small. The.nights are now below freezing. This item was supposed to get hot and keep him warm through the night. It never got hot under the microwave directions it was warm. The first night and the second, I went out to check on how it was conducting heat, and it wasn't even warm through the fleece wrap. This is a total waste of money and your animal will not benefit at all.
