Fountains will get mold if you don’t change the water every two days, nothing to do with this product. The only waterer that can keep water that long is petsafe, and it’s not a fountain! Water should be changed at least every 3 days! This product jerks my kitties teeth and breath fresh. I still brush their teeth every other month.
Added this to the Catit flower water fountain and after about two weeks, although the product seemed to be helping, realized it grew mold in in the bottom of the fountain. Had the fountain for 2.5 years and never had this issue.
I like using this product in my cat's water; it is easy to add, and I am hoping it helps her teeth to stay clean. She is young, so it will be a long time until I will know if it helps, but this product does not cost too much, so I will continue using it.
My cats were hesitant at first, and probably could smell it in the water, but could drink the water just as regularly. No fresh breath yet, though.
My older cat had some bad breath! Due to an injury I’d been feeding her wet food only. She is also not a cat I can bring to get her teeth cleaned because she can be so aggressive at the vet. I needed a solution not only for the smell but worried about my cats health. Happy to say her breath is not stinky anymore! I’ve only had it a few days so not sure if it’s helping with plaque or what not. But it hasn’t detoured either of cats from their water like some other reviews. In fact seems my older cat has been drinking more! Yay! A great buy!
I have been using this in my cat’s water for a little bit now and it definitely does what it’s supposed to. My cat had horrible breath, so bad you could smell it if he yawned. I gave this a try and followed the directions on the bottle. He doesn’t seem to notice it in the water which is wonderful. It works so well before writing this review I grabbed his face and smelled his open mouth and couldn’t smell a thing.
When I adopted my cat at 4 months, within a couple weeks I noticed his breath smelled RANCID. I have been using this product in his water for the past 2 years and have never had any issues with his breath again. He's extremely picky, but drinks this fine. I recommend if your cat refuses to drink, add less so there is no detectable taste and slowly increase to the amount necessary. I put a bit less than a capful in his water bowl.
I had some apprehension at first, however, I am delighted to say, this has helped. It doesn't upset my boys stomachs, it is odorless and clear. It is added straight to their water.
I was recommended to try this from a vet...but my kitties won't drink the water. It is odorless and tasteless (to us?) but my kitties know it is there! Waste of $8.00!
Used it in a water fountain and it foamed up pretty bad. Probably ok in a stagnant bowl of water. Not sure if it works as promised.
