Armarkat Covered Cat & Dog Bed, Burgundy/Ivory

My one cat has always liked covered/cave beds, so I got this bigger one when my little guy had to have his second knee surgery to give them a nice place to sleep next to his recovery cage. The girls took to it right away and love sleeping in it, but it's definitely not worth the list price. Or even the usual sale price. Most beds like this have some sort of thin foam or something to help the top hold its shape. NOPE! It's nothing but fabric, way too floppy and falls down into the bed. I more or less fixed that by threading a piece of wire from an old coat hanger around inside the tan trim on the front edge, good enough as long as they don't try to step on it or shove it backwards too far. After having had it a few years, the removeable pillow is also nothing but a pain in the rear. I don't know what possible purpose it serves. The whole bed is small enough to throw in even a tiny washer if needed, and easy to flip inside out to vacuum. There is ZERO padding on the bottom, so it's not like any pet would want to use the bed without it. My nesting/tunneling cat is constantly flipping it over, pulling it out, or ending up half underneath it to the point that I'm about ready to figure out how to sew it in place. For a few good points, it's a good size for a large cat or two smaller ones like mine to snuggle (they're about 12lbs). The fabric is really soft. It also hasn't gotten any rips or started shedding/fraying in spite of my one cat's efforts to knead and pick pieces out of it, unlike most of the fuzzy-looking "sherpa" material beds that don't last a month. There are better covered beds out there. Don't buy this unless you want to have to fix it to be usable.
