Austin and Kat Austin's Everything Oil Omega Fish Oil Liquid Skin & Coat Supplement for Dogs, 16-fl oz bottle

The boy: Ronald is a pitbull/Australian cattle dog mix who spent the first two years of his life in a shelter. He's been with us for ~18 months. He has an extremely sensitive stomach and has recently developed skin allergies but we haven't determined what to exactly. The search: Throughout my discussions with our vet and my own research I found that omega oils (3,6,9 in the right ratio) can be very helpful for dogs skin as a prevention measure. I also know that they can be good for other things as well. I swear I looked at every type of fish oil available on Chewy and at my local pet stores. With Ronalds sensitive stomach I was very worried about getting something that would help and not cause unexpected side effects. I especially trust reviews from other pet parents because they tell you a lot about what to expect. Unfortunately the Everything Oil did not have very many reviews and the ones it had didn't give much detail. So I went to the Austin and Kat website. It was clear to me from the minute I started reading the website that this was the brand for us. The website is packed with educational information that matched what my vet has said, it also talks about how Kat formulated the oil for her own dogs and has several reviews from people who have bought from their website. The product: I used Chewy because I knew it would arrive quickly and in good shape, and I was right. When it arrived I immediately gave Ronald a little snack of kibble (it was between meal times) because I wanted to be sure I could send it back right away if he didn't tolerate it. He gobbled down his kibble much faster than usual so I assume he likes the flavor and he has not had any issues digestively or otherwise. I actually think he's had less gas than usual which is nice although I don't know if it's related. The bottle has a really great lid (see photo) that prevents the oil from getting all over everything. Customer service: After I received the oil I read that you could put omega oils right on itchy skin. I couldn't find that anywhere else so I emailed the Austin and Kat customer service (from their website). To my surprise I received a response just 3 hours later. Lilly responded explaining that using it topically was not recommended because they oxidize quickly and can cause the irritation to get worse. Ok, that's a great response on it's own but it gets better! She then suggested other things I could try that they don't even sell!
