Puppies: Start allowing puppies access to Grain Free AvoDerm® Red Meat Meal & Potato Formula about 3 weeks before weaning, the food can be moistened to help consumption. After weaning feed the puppy 3 - 4 times per day for the first 2 months, and then from 2 - 3 times per day until reaching Adult size, and then 1 - 2 times per day. Expect to feed 1 1/2 - 2 times the Adult feeding recommendation during the puppy's growing phase, adjust the daily amount fed so the puppy maintains a good body condition.
Pregnant Females: During pregnancy increase the feeding amount during the last 1/3 of pregnancy to 1 1/2 times the amount recommended as shown for the Adult. Avoid excessive overfeeding, maintaining a good body condition, while preparing for whelp and nursing.

Adjust the extra food given by the number of puppies and length of nursing. My dog has been using Avoderm. since he's a puppy and he absolutely loves it!!
I ordered the Avoderm Salmon for a houseguest who brought her dog and was running low on dog food. Chewy was great and delivered the next day. The visiting dog loves Avoderm and has a very silky coat because of it. Our dog tried to sneak bites from the guest bowl too. At our next visit, I will ask the vet if it is OK to switch our dog to AvoDerm.
Looks like a great quality food and my dog likes it but the kibble is way too tiny for my 100 lb lab. It says all life stages but I expected the kibble to be a little bigger. Unfortunately, I will have to find something else for my big boy.
What do I think of my purchase? Hey, its dog food you're asking the wrong species. She seems to love it-for the last 15 years Thx
All my dogs but my Doberman are hounds and adults to seniors. They ALL love this food. I’m careful with GF due to Doberman DCM history, but, so far, so good.
Not the food's fault, our European Dobermann is not adapting & not able to keep it down. Went through the transition phase, it was Ok, once completely switched over, Mojo has not been able to keep this food down. Everything Changed. Must stop immediately.
My pup has had horrible allergies, itchy skin and irritated paws. He also has a large amount of yeast buildup in his ears. This food has totally changed his life. Wonderful product!
Perfect for transition from puppy to adult, as it is an all life stages and would be great in transition from any other food. My pups have stomach sensitivities and their digestion got BETTER through the transition period, which was a wonderful and unexpected benefit. Petsmart should carry this in stores. (Chewy owns Petsmart) A lot of research went into choosing this food and, for my babies, it's fantastic.
I have been feeding them Nature's Recipe Salmon for several years, but recently they have been scratching and my Silky Terrier's skin has started flaking so I took a closer look at their food and saw that it contains chicken. I thought I'd try Avo'Derm, but they just smell it, look at me and walk away. Back to the hunt.
First off, I do want to say I love the Avoderm brand so I'm a supporter of their products. With that in mind, this review was not the expected result of my purchase. I bought this to replace the Avoderm food my two pit-mixes normally eat, since their usual was out of stock. They are not picky eaters but for some reason, they are not fans of this recipe. My pit who is the least picky seems to actually hate this. When I was switching it, he would try to avoid these kibble bits and would only eat the other kibble. Once switched, he was reluctant to even touch the bowl at all and he didn't finish it even if he did try it. He would normally finish his food before my other dog, so that was unusual. The other dog tolerates it, but consumes it at a slow pace and is not eager to eat it. The main thing that really bummed me out was for some reason this food made my dog's allergies worse than any food ever has. He has been itchy, red, scratching, and has hives. I took him off this (the only change) and he improved. My vet agreed it was likely food since he has mild allergies otherwise and this was the only thing that changed. I was hoping to replace my other food with this due to the one being consistently back ordered, but this particular recipe seems to be a no go.
