Effective and easy to clean

I bought two of these slow feeder inserts for my puppies to stop them inhaling their food so quickly. The suction cups on the bottom are just strong enough for them

I bought two of these slow feeder inserts for my puppies to stop them inhaling their food so quickly. The suction cups on the bottom are just strong enough for them to stay in the bowls, but not too strong that I can't take them out afterwards to wash and reveal the couple of kibble bits that get underneath. I usually moisten their food but then it stuck to the insert and they got frustrated so I don't do that now. It won't be long before their noses are too big to get all the kibble out but they are great right now! I thought they would be really hard to clean but it's actually easy. I wash them in a little soapy water, rinse and leave them to dry. They still look like new after 3 weeks or so of 3 meals a day and some pretty rough treatment by teething pups. No staining or slimy bits.

My buddy Jax would gobble up his food so fast that he'd give himself a tummy ache. Burping and upset stomach. This device worked like a charm. It even changed his water drinking habit, so instead of finishing his food in 30 seconds and then drinking all the water at once, he eats a bit, drinks a bit, eats a bit, etc., until he finishes about 10-15 minutes later. I also think he enjoys the whole mealtime process more now, too. I come around when he's given up to help him get the last bits, then take the insert to the sink to wash it out. Once clean, it gets stuck to the side of the sink to dry. I love this thing!

I like the design of this insert better than others I've seen and/or used. Unfortunately, this one was too wide for the dog bowl so I couldn't use it.

Too effective

Some of the raised pieces are too high so instead of slowing our pup down he's not able to eat at all. He ends up picking up the whole bowl by the insert pieces

Some of the raised pieces are too high so instead of slowing our pup down he's not able to eat at all. He ends up picking up the whole bowl by the insert pieces and slamming it until the pieces end up in the middle and he can get them out. The suction cups do work very well.

Softer than expected

This bowl insert has been a good buy. While it *does* slow her down it's a lot softer than expected, therefor not slowing her down as much as I'd like. I've found

This bowl insert has been a good buy. While it *does* slow her down it's a lot softer than expected, therefor not slowing her down as much as I'd like. I've found it works better for wet food than dry, but Lilith gets mostly dry food. I do love how easy it is to clean and use, and might end up repurchasing it in the future so no regrets about buying it. I'd also like it more if it were about half an inch to an inch wider, but that's really just personal preference and nothing to do with function. Overall I'm happy with this insert.
