My Chihuahua, Mia (almost 11), at first was a little frightened by the movement, but she wanted her food so she adapted to the movement. By the next feeding, she was a pro and enjoyed the wobble as if it were a toy. The ridges did prevent her from eating too fast which is a problem with most other bowls, even those that have bumps and groves in them. I do recommend this bowl for anxious, fast eating pets!!

I do not recommend this bowl for use with dogs. Possibly not cats either I’ve used other lick mats and bowls before with no issue but for some reason, my smaller

I've tried a bunch of these slow feeders. The mats are actually pretty gross to clean. This has enough grooves to keep the wet food challenging enough to make the cat eat slower but the bowl shape is good for soupy varieties and the lines vs those little tiny bumps all over a lickmat are much easier to get clean.

I love things that keep my dog active, unfortunately during the week we normally go for a little walk when I get home from work and sometimes that’s not enough for her so this helps a lot since she loves her lick mats and puzzle games during the week already and I like that I can put different things on it, freeze it and she’s good to go. Especially when I’m cooking dinner because she likes laying on my feet and I’m normally trying to move all around
