are these dishwasher safe?

Ideally, it is suggested to hand wash only, like doing the dishes. It can go in the dishwasher if it can lay perfectly flat on the rack, it will warp. It won't destroy the mat, but may bend it.

Are these mats good for dry food.

Sticky, greasy film on the mats - won't come out

I got some Licky Mats several years ago and they work great for one of my cats, a former stray with a PTSD/starvation complex. She can't eat her food too fast and then vomit it back up. I ordered 4 new mats and they came coated with a greasy, sticky film on the front and back. Washing with numerous products in numerous ways did nothing to remove the film. A VAST disappointment.

These were not a hit with my cat, who turns her nose up at wet food. I hoped she might be curious but she's just not at all food motivated. My dogs, however, didn't let them go unused! I think it says a lot about the durability of a cat toy if it can withstand the aggressive gnawing of a collie puppy and the determined chomps of a border collie x heeler x supermutt... I wouldn't leave them unsupervised with it. But for its intended use, this product is amazingly durable!!

Grooming tool godsend!

We have a very fluffy floof who hates to be brushed, combed, and trimmed with clippers. Her only kyptonite is churu which I give to her in one hand and comb with the other. It’s tricky because it only takes a second before she bites down and won’t let go of the churu and it’s got punctures or she straight up shreds the packaging, making the efficacy null. Enter the Lickimat. Now, I spread the churu on it with a butter knife to get it into all the crevices and I have both hands free to comb & maneuver her and she is oblivious licking away! This morning I realized she needed a sanitary trim with the clippers (which is usually a 2-person, wrap in a blanket traumatic ordeal for everyone involved.) This morning she was laying on her back snoozing and I noticed stuck litter on her bum fur. I did up the lickimat with churu placed it by her head and she didn’t even roll over, just started licking away and I was able to shave her bum fur, move her back legs around and she was completely docile and couldn’t care less! I’m going to use this at the next vet visit! So happy! This is a HOLY GRAIL and I couldn’t be happier with this purchase!!!!

Works great for soft tube treats

I’d say my cats love them, but I’m pretty sure it’s the treats I put on them they actually love. They do know when I pull these out they are going to get something

I have ordered lickimats many times in the past. I have never had this problem. This set has a sticky film on it. I have washed them in dawn liquid soap two times

I have ordered lickimats many times in the past. I have never had this problem. This set has a sticky film on it. I have washed them in dawn liquid soap two times. I also put alcohol on them. Nothing will get rid of this sticky film. I am afraid it might make my cats sick

Both of my cats eat very quickly to the point of throwing up their food from eating too fast. These mats have helped significantly with slowing down how fast they eat their wet food. It is hard for them to get all of the food from the blue mat and I have to take the mat away from my cat before he starts chewing it to try and get all the food. My cats not being able to lick all the food off of the blue mat is my only reason for taking a star off.

Great for feeding and treats

I freeze my kitty's can food on this as a treat and also use it regularly for his canned food meals. He loves it! Bit difficult to clean though.
