The size for my overweight cat wasnt the problem, but the trays are so tightly together that I had trouble turning it to put the food in, let alone her turning it to get the food out. So I'm trying to figure out how to loosen the trays to spin easier.

My kitten has slight food aggression and this slow feeder is perfect. We got him a rubber slow feeder mat previous to this purchase but unfortunately he started ripping it apart this material can’t be eaten or damaged and helps give him a slow fun meal! It’s also extremely easy to clean out afterwards.

Mew Mew (AKA Brunello) needed to lose a few pounds! So I bought him 2 extra cat trees, gradually spaced them apart further to get to his food, and fed him a portion of his food in his dish, and a portion in this 3 tiered "toy". It did slow his eating down a bit, and also entertained him for a (very)short time. I calculated (with expert assistance) how much foid he should have in 24 hours. I put that amount of food in a small glass jar with lid, and portioned it out just a little at a time through out the day. This will of course be a big challenge if you're not home for a 6-8 stretch of time, I would recommend an auto feeder in that case This information is not so much related to this item, but it is one thing I used in my strategy for weight loss, and he's steadillist weight, and is definitely more conditioned with making him jump between cat trees! He started out at 16 pounds and is now 12 pounds, this is over about 6 months. At first he screamed at me a lot, and gave me the angry face, this lasted about 3 weeks. Then he got used to being hungry :). He's a happy boy

Meowth has been acting bored, so we're trying to make life interesting for him. I've learned, don't mess with dinner lol. He took one look at this, turned his back and yowled until I served his food properly. Wouldn't even touch the food in the top layer The feeder is well constructed and easy to use. I'm sure it's great for some cats... Just not ours!
