I gave my 48 lb. English Springer Spaniel a handful of the Badlands Ranch Superfood Complete RAW coated morsels mixed in with his normal Science Diet dog food for sensitive stomach and skin. Several hours later he started vomiting up his food and had severe dark runny diarrhea all night long! BADLANDS RANCH needs to put a warning on their RAW COATED dog food warning pet parents that dogs who have sensitive stomachs cannot tolerate any RAW proteins (chicken, beef, seafood), even if it says RAW COATED. It can make them deathly sick if not treated immediately! Apparently, even a small amount can cause a bad reaction that can lead to Acute Gastrointestinalcolitis (projectile vomiting and severe bloody diarrhea) since this is exactly what happened to my dog a year ago but since I got him immediate help he is healthy again. From now on, Ziggy is sticking with the Science Diet dry dog food for sensitive stomach and skin, Grandma Lucy's Artisan freeze dried dog food and COOKED chicken to keep him healthy and active. NO MORE RAW DOG FOOD EVEN IF IT SAYS "COATED!"

Great for some, not for all

I have three dogs ranging in size from Husky to Great Dane. They were all *immediately* enamored with the Badlands Ranch Superfood Complete Raw Coated Morsels Wild Fish Dry Dog Food. I can tell you why. It's SMELLY! It smells like fish. Not wild fish, though, but the sort of hot funky fish smell you get behind the scenes at a public aquarium. It's stinky. And the dogs were obsessed. We took quite a while to introduce this food, as it's a lot different to the food we were previously using. It's more calorie dense than our previous kibble, and rather than being chicken and rice based this one is beef and oats based, according to the first 2 ingredients on the label. Compared to the food we switched from it's also higher in protein and fat, and lower in fiber and moisture. My conclusion is as follows. The dogs LOVED eating this, looked forward to it every day and seemed to love it. They'd feel the same way if I gave them roast beef sandwiches for every meal, though, right? The proof is in the results. Two of my three dogs did just fine on this food, with no noticeable changes. My 1 year old neutered Great Dane, though, began to have some issues with his rear end glands. He's a big dude, and loves to cuddle, and him having a leaky, stinky rear isn't fun. Could it be that the richer food made his stool more loose? Maybe. For his sake, we're switching back to our previous kibble, but I'd still recommend this as a high quality kibble that dogs love. If you have a picky or lean dog, especially.

Quality food, enticing scent, but pricey choice

This food smells fresh and real, much stronger than typical kibble—which makes me think it’s very enticing to pets. The ingredients list is impressive, full of whole proteins and superfoods rather than fillers. The feeding guidelines suggest smaller daily portions than my current brand, which may help stretch it further. My dog seems to enjoy it, and I like that it’s nutrient-dense and minimally processed. The only drawback for me is cost—a 20 lb bag is about twice the price of the 28 lb bag I normally purchase. If budget weren’t a concern, I’d feel confident making the switch since it seems like a well-made, high-quality option.

My dog, Joaquin, was very anxious to try the Badlands Ranch Super Food Morsels. I gave him a little taste before mixing some into his bowl. He eagerly ate it out of my hand. He loved it and looked for more. With a slow integration with his current food, he is doing well but definitely prefers the new Badlands Ranch Whitefish and Turkey formula. I love the healthy ingredients and that it is brought to us by Katherine Heigl and the Jason Heigl Foundation. The mission is to end animal cruelty and abuse. This is something that I can really get behind.

My first time purchasing Badlands Ranch, and it's a winner. Our finicky and allergy prone shepherd eats mostly fish and / or turkey, and this recipe has both. (Ingredients listed under ingredients are for the beef variety, wild fish ingredients can be found in images of the bag - I emailed Chewy so they can fix the listing). The calorie count per cup is good, so it's really not much more for the 10lb bag as we'd been paying for other high quality brands. Our dog enjoys this food, so I will definitely continue to purchase.

We have 4 dogs from 10 lbs up to over 100 lbs. This kibble is on the smaller to medium size with a rich deep brown color. The ingredients looked good with various types of fish and turkey proteins at the start of the ingredient list. Three of our dogs happily ate this food -- the fourth dog heavily favors fish based kibble and this one leaned too far in the turkey direction for him. Overall, I feel its a solid food - but would need to be more fish leaning for it to work for our crew.

The market is over saturated with pet food these days. In the past when I thought I was buying a quality product for my pets I would get home only to see that it had some ingredients that are harmful to injest such as seed oils ,carrageenan or had meat by products in it. What a disappointment and a waste of money! I was lead to this brand after seeing the infomercial on tv. I liked the ingredients, and I love that they help dogs with health care, training, and finding them loving homes. I realized I could buy it from Chewy so I ordered some. It is expensive , but what isn’t these days? The other alternative will be a raw diet, and I will have to make more time for that. We have 2 pugs. The breed is known to be very sensitive and allergic to a slew of things which makes it difficult to find food / treats that they like, and digest well. We’ve purchased two bags of this food so far, and they eat each morsel leaving nothing behind. They also digest it well. We are going to try the fish and turkey blend on our next shipment. The dogs and I approve of this food, and recommend that you give it a try!

Dog's wouldn't eat it....

I buy the Badlands Superfood Freeze Dried and my dogs love it. But these morsels -- Yuck! They smell bad and my dogs would even try one little kibble.
