My hens absolutely adored these scratch grains! It is a tad bit overpriced, but my thinking is that you’re spending a smaller fraction of your money for scratch grains, anyways. After all, scratch grains are only supposed to be treats. They should make up a small part of a chicken’s diet. Therefore, why not go organic and spend just a little more for something so simple? Chickens will eat just about anything, but that doesn’t mean that you should feed them whatever. They’ll go head first for scattered grains as soon as you throw them on the ground, so you might as well give your hens that little boost of freshness and rich nutrition that comes from an organic product! A 10 pound bag of these grains will last me about a week in a half or two. It really depends on the other components of their diet. I’d say buy it! Inorganic scratch grains might be a dollar or two less, but I’ll probably be sticking to these organic grains for the reasons listed above.
