I have a Rottweiler & these are the only natural dog bones that my dog doesn't obliterate within seconds. There are a few important caveats: beware - do not leave your dog alone while they are chewing it. I allow my dog to chew it 15-20 min per day. I never leave him alone with it. This is a natural bone from a cow. They will break apart & sometimes into sharp pieces, your dog could easily choke on them if you are not watching them. I had a close call once my dog began to choke, but he ended up being OK. they advised trying to feed your dog soft dog food if they start choking w soft food but all I had was dry kibble that I mixed with water & it cleared it. So it worked. Obviously if that doesn't work, you must take your dog to ER vet.. So I started setting a timer for 15 to 20 minutes per day. People giving bad reviews for a product that is a natural animal bone natural doing what a natural animal bone is going to do. It's going to break and it can form sharp pieces. I don't like my dog chewing on plastic synthetic bones with chemicals and additives so that is the trade-off. I watch him very carefully while he is chewing it & as long as I do that and limit his time, he is fine and he loves it.

It may become brittle, but I have never seen any sharp edges. Another great thing about having these large knucklebones in your yard around a large dog bed is that your dog does not need to be present to scare off intruders!

These white bones were unavailable for many months, and the dogs and I are happier because they can chew inside the house, which they cannot do with the "meaty"

Using huge knuckle bones helps clean the outside of the teeth without wearing them down, because most dogs cannot get their jaws completely around one. They are the only bone I allow, and having the clean white ones allows me to give them chewing time more often. The pack is at peace when everyone is busy with a bone. These new ones seem to come apart faster than the ones available years ago from Redbarn, so you have to be careful to remove the small pieces, which are their favorite. Loved by our German Shepherd, Shiloh Shepherd, Standard Poodle and small Pitbull mixes.

For her, that process can take anywhere from an hour to just 30 minutes depending on how dry the bone is and how meaty. If it is dry it is too fast, or meaty it is good. If it is dense bone longer, though.

These are a great Bone for dogs. The dogs love the taste and then chew on it and it keeps her teeth clean. Also since they are white, they do not stain their feet

The description about this bone is that they roast it and it doesn’t have marrow or meat on it so it won’t have splinters. Kind of true. I gave it to my large dog

I gave it to my large dog and he broke off a piece within five minutes. Every time he chewed it, small pieces came off of it. They didn’t look like splinters, but I didn’t want him swallowing those small pieces of bone. Had to take it away and get rid of it. Waste of money for me.

Not a true knuckle bone
A knuckle bone is one piece and shouldn’t come apart. This “knuckle bone” is actually two bones put together. It took my girl about five minutes to get it apart

There were a lot of extremely sharp edges where the bones were put together and it cut the heck out of her mouth. I would not buy this again and cannot recommend it.
Smaller Size than Anticipated and Splintered A Lot
My dog loved this bone but it splintered a lot, was smaller than any Red Barn knuckle bone I’ve ever ordered. The Barking Buddha bone gave him gas and made him poop
