Does this bone get sharp edges when chewed?

Answer by ChewyDec 23, 2018
The nylon material used in this toy could develop sharp edges depending on your dog's chewing style. It's recommended to always monitor your pet while she's chewing and remove toy if it become damaaged.

What size is recommended for an adult German Shorthair Pointer and an adult Weimaraner?

Answer by ChewyNov 08, 2018
The Small measures approximately 5.5 x 5 x 3 inches and is recommended for pets up to 30 pounds. The Medium measures approximately 6.6 x 6.5 x 3.7 inches and is recommended for pets under 60 pounds. The Large measures approximately 7.7 x 7 x 4 inches and is recommended for pets under 90 pounds.

Is it safe

Answer by ChewyNov 10, 2022
Since it’s a durable nylon chew, Benebones are pretty hard and durable. You can’t make an indent on the product with your fingernail, however hard you try. So be sure your pup has strong, healthy teeth and can handle harder chews such as antlers and real bones. Keep an eye out for wear and tear. Within a month or so, most dogs chew Benebone into submission. Rice-sized flakes are okay, but if it looks like larger chunks are about to come off, it’s time to replace them. Please check the image for reference.

Where is this made?

Answer by ChewyMay 04, 2020

Great toy for chewers

My 15 lb dachshund chews through these so quickly, but he goes crazy for them! We replace them frequently (monthly probably) because pieces do fall off of them,

I have tried every chew toy under the sun even the labeled heavy chewer and my dog destroyed all of them in a day or two. The only thing that survived my dog was a deer antler, until I found this brand. I think these might even last longer than the antler. My dog is 5 years old not some young pup.

Better size

At least this time they came at the right size, last time I ordered I got medium instead of small, and I couldn’t get it corrected

This bone keeps them occupied

They love the bone. Keeps them occupied and focused on chewing the bone. The only thing that I don’t like that little tiny pieces do come off.

Although our 2 1/2 year old hound dog has had a variety of chew toys/bones, this Benebone Maplestick did not sit well with him. He had a reaction, i.e. G.I. issues, loss of appetite, and lethargy, after just a couple hours of chewing on it. That was the only new addition to his diet, so I’m correlating it to the Maplewood flavoring. Although it appears durable and good quality, it just wasn’t suitable for our hard chewing dog.

Already Chewing Parts Off!

My dog has chewed this less than 10 times and the ends are already showing the sharp plastic pieces on the end. I've taken it away until I find out if it's edible

My dog has chewed this less than 10 times and the ends are already showing the sharp plastic pieces on the end. I've taken it away until I find out if it's edible. The wishbone one didn't last two chews. This is my first Brittany to be such a heavy chewer, I mean she goes hard! Trying to find something that lasts.

Too heavy & hard to keep large puppy interested.

This item looks neat & smells good but it’s so hard (like rock hard) & pup preferred a bit softer chew bone; not to mention how loud it is banging around on hard

This item looks neat & smells good but it’s so hard (like rock hard) & pup preferred a bit softer chew bone; not to mention how loud it is banging around on hard floors. If they could make it a tad less dense maybe the pup would enjoy it more.

Sturdy and puppy loving chew toy.

Our puppy loves to chew on sticks when he's outside. This chew toy is a wonderful substitute for sticks either inside (no sticks allowed indoors) or outside.
