Sturdy treat ball that keeps my dog entertained

When I opened the ball my dog was excited for it before I even put treats inside it. The treat opening is pretty large, so putting little treats in it won’t work

When I opened the ball my dog was excited for it before I even put treats inside it. The treat opening is pretty large, so putting little treats in it won’t work. I put a larger treat “bone” in it, and she was even more excited. She started out by licking it and tossing it up in the air to see if the treat would fall out. It didn’t fall out so she licked it some more, and then ultimately crunched it enough to get it out of the ball. Even after the treat was gone, she pushed the ball around and licked it for a bit more. She loved it and it was fun to watch her enjoy it. Next, I am going to put peanut butter in it and freeze it and see if that keeps her busy for even longer.

Does a great job keeping the pups engaged in trying to get a treat out. If you put in a piece of a treat big enough that you have to force it in there, it definitely makes for a mental exercise for them. The ONLY issue is that the ball is small enough for a large breed to possibly get it lodged in their throat. Our trainer has always said to avoid tennis ball (or smaller) sized balls for large dogs (our Golden Retriever is 95 lbs). Otherwise, its a fun dispenser that keeps them mentally active!

I am always looking for a new well designed toy for my Golden Retriever so I grabbed the Benebone Rubber Treat Dispenser Ball for my boy. Most rubber toys don’t last long around here — but this one is built different. The rubber is firm but flexible enough to keep him engaged, and the treat dispenser design keeps him stimulated. I try different treats in there but my go to is a mix of kibble and peanut butter, and it keeps him busy for a good amount of time. It’s also way easier to clean than some other treat toys I’ve tried — just rinse and go. I appreciate that it's made in the USA and uses non-toxic, durable rubber. No funky smells or mystery materials. Great design, great quality. Highly recommend this for medium to large dogs who love a challenge!

Mack normally adores all types of bouncy balls. He packs, plays and brings them bak into the house. I put a treat in the Benebone ball, threw it and Mack ran to fetch it. The hole was too large to keep even a fairly large treat secure. The treat flew out as the ball was tossed, Mack ate the treat and left the ball where it landed. I tried an even larger treat. Repeat: tossed, treat fell out and ball was ignored. The ball is still in the backyard and hasn’t been played with at all.

First I appreciate that it doesn't have an odor like so many similar products. It's the size of a tennis ball and firm but not rock hard which my old dog appreciates

First I appreciate that it doesn't have an odor like so many similar products. It's the size of a tennis ball and firm but not rock hard which my old dog appreciates. He isn't a hard chewer so I can't comment on its ability to withstand a really determined dog. The bounce is whacky and it's great for enthusiastic fetchers or very playful pups that like to toss the ball to themselves. Nice product.
