Does this throw change textures after it has been washed?

For easy cleaning and maintenance, this shag blanket is machine washable and dryer safe. Machine wash cold and tumble dry low. To avoid matting of the fur, it is important that the blanket is thoroughly dried in the dryer after washing – do not air dry.

Will this still get matted if you only wash it and not put it in the dryer?

It is recommended to machine wash this blanket on gentle cycle and tumble dry on low heat.

The throw is soft and durable, but it didn't promote any calming for Walter. The blanket actually energized him and nearly drove him into a frenzy as he played with,

The throw is soft and durable, but it didn't promote any calming for Walter. The blanket actually energized him and nearly drove him into a frenzy as he played with, tore into it, jumped on it, barked at it, and threw it in the air. Luckily it is sturdy and doesn't get torn up. I wish I hadn't bought 2. I hoped it would help calm Walter. Sadly it had the opposite effect.

These looked so soft and inviting. However, the clowder doesn't like them at all (I accidentally ordered two of these too). They sniff at them and walk away. I'm not sure if it's because the material is very very thin? There is no padding to this, it is just like a blanket, but no weight to it. I've put it on the couch where they like to sleep, and they all avoid it like the plague. They will sleep next to it but definitely won't' use it. They even avoid walking on it.

I just placed it over her bed pad on the couch corner. I highly recommend purchasing this blanket for any of your pets, esp who are more anxious.

Charlie loves his blankies. This is the 2nd time I have ordered them as he has one on a chair and the other in his bed. He now has four. This way, he doesn't get upset when I pick them up to wash them lol. The original two are becoming a bit ratty now as he has had had them for a few years. Sometimes, he likes to chew on them. Charlie recommends them - a lot! I have been thinking about getting him another of the beds as it is a bit of a chore moving it from the LR to the bedroom every night, and back again. Plus, I do wish this company sold spare covers for the beds. He gets really worried when he see that come off.

I'm disappointed in the quality of this blanket. After washing it once according to the care directions, the faux fur is matted and flattened, making it look like

I'm disappointed in the quality of this blanket. After washing it once according to the care directions, the faux fur is matted and flattened, making it look like it's been used for years. My dog does seem to find it comfortable to lay on/be covered by, but given how worn it already looks, I don't expect it to last long before it has to be replaced. I initially planned to by more of these as holiday gifts but I will find another option after seeing how poor the quality is.
