In BFF food, they have a few types of mediums, gravy, gelée and pate. BFF use water and starch to thicken the gravy and gums for texture in the gelée and pate. Though they use three different gums, each contributes in its own way to make the gel. Three may sound like a lot but they make up less than 1% of the formula, and using only 1 would not create the same type of texture.

Excellent food!

We have a cat that has pretty severe inflammatory bowel disease. He has many food restrictions because many foods cause flare ups for him. His most important restrictions

We have a cat that has pretty severe inflammatory bowel disease. He has many food restrictions because many foods cause flare ups for him. His most important restrictions are chicken free and grain free. You would not believe how few cat foods are both grain free and chicken free (especially chicken free). This company has multiple flavors he can have, and it is really high quality food. You can see chunks of real meat in them. To complicate our needs further, our other cat is a picky eater, and she will eat several of the flavors that our cat with inflammatory bowel disease can have (which is so helpful because they split a large can at meal times). Thank you BFF OMG, and thank you for carrying their products Chewy!!

My cat has recently turned her nose to any pate, shreds, or chunks! She loves BFF OMG gravy and will lick the plate clean. Even though it has duck and tuna shreds
