Nice but not secure

This is a nice feeder and the larger birds and woodpeckers really seemed to enjoy it- until it was left with the top raised and one grate and the suet removed. Never

This is a nice feeder and the larger birds and woodpeckers really seemed to enjoy it- until it was left with the top raised and one grate and the suet removed. Never could find the grate so now the feeder is useless. The way it all slides apart would make it very easy to clean but it would need to be secured with zip ties or something to keep it intact when in use.

This handles one suet cake perfectly. I detracted a star as there is no way to keep the larger birds from pulling up on the top and the heavy wire grates and removing the suet. I have resorted to running very long 'pipe-cleaners' through both sides of the grates about 2 rungs down from the top; then securing the pipe-cleaners over the top. So far, that has kept the suet from being removed, but I wish there had been some time of securing mechanism built into the suet feeder.

Closed sides

I didn’t know this had solid sides or I would not have ordered it.

Squirrels were chewing on it within days!

I hoped it would last longer than the cedar one, but the squirrels were chewing on it within 3 days!
