unfortunately my 8 yr old baby female is a VERY picky doggy and I jumped from excitement to finally find the brand for her after trying orijen (over $100 for 25 lb), instict and a couple other top brands. The smell immediately caught her attention and i was shocked when she started eating it. Could be that russells love turkey too so that was a plus!! AND CHEWY #1 IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY SHOW YOU CLIENT IS FIRST. THANK YOU :)
So far, so good!
Our golden retriever has terrible allergies--itching all the time. Someone said she might be allergic to chicken so we switched her to turkey/potato. She loves it. Not sure if it's alleviating the itching since it hasn't been very long and she's still taking Apoquel. But for now, she seems happy with this food. (We had tried salmon food before and she wouldn't touch it.)
Sorry to report
My dog does not care for this new food and I've seen no improvement in his skin irritation so our hunt will continue.
Too hard to chew
I have an 8 pound 12 year old havanese. I think this food is too hard for her to chew, I changed to this from another brand, but she has trouble chewing all the pieces. I got this one because of her food allergies but is too hard.

My dog's rescue coordinator highly recommended grain-free dog food when I adopted Morgan in 2014. I had been purchasing several different brands since then up until his vet detected a slight heart murmur. She indicated that grain-free food may be related to heart issues. I switched to Royal Canin Senior 10+ and after several months his vet claimed that she could not detect a murmur. When COVID hit and there was a shortage of this brand, I switched to another highly rated brand and noticed that my dog's stool was soft and difficult to pick up. Before my next auto-ship order, I spoked with a Chewy customer service rep who claimed that the reason for the soft stool may be related to the fact that my dog did not need and/or was unable to digest the nutrients in this brand. I asked her for a recommendation and the Blue Buffalo was one of the brands she suggested and after reading the reviews, I ordered a 24 pound bag. Although, he has only been eating it for a couple of weeks, I have noticed a change in his stool consistency, however, he is still eating grass. A neighbor suggested feeding him greens (broccoli, asparagus, etc.) in addition to his Blue Buffalo which may help keep him from eating grass.

I think it was the smell that turned my dog away , I cannot say it would be bad for other dogs, mine would not touch it, he has allergies and have been trying different food ,recommended, this was definitely a no

from the time they saw the Chewy box..eyes lit up, noses were a sniffing,tails were a waggin... and the taste well lets just say I'm grateful my fingers weren't in their way...
Best for my Dog
I had struggled to find a food my senior dog enjoyed and also COULD eat after suddenly developing a sensitive stomach (he’s been to the vet and all is good!) and this was the winner. My dog enjoys the taste and I can see how good it has been for him in his energy and shiny coat. After watching my dog uncontrollably vomit and diarrhea, not be able to sleep because he’s so uncomfortable, loose way too much weight too quickly, and just generally thinking I was going to lose him, I would gladly pay $50 for the 4 lb bag of food.
Will not Eat
I have a senior dog with sensitive stomach issues, I have a pitbull adult who gobbles everything and another senior small dog. I thought I was doing well to get Blue Buffalo senior and sensitive stomach but imagine my suprise my pitty who gobbles everything wouldn't eat it. Chewy has a wide selection of food, I will have to find something else.
My Dog Loves this Stuff!
I decided to try this food because my Senior basset hound has an apparent food sensitivity that we have not been able to pinpoint. It has been difficult to find a food that is made for Senior dogs that accommodates food sensitivities, so I was glad to see this variety. The moment I opened the box my dog was all over it, so much that he dragged the 22 lb bag toward his bowl with his teeth and chewed it open. Needless to say, when I put it in his bowl he was a very happy doggy. He has been eating this food for about 2 weeks and I can already tell a big difference in his skin and coat. His fur is much softer, where his fur was dry and wiry before. I have also noticed that the allergy related scratching and the irritation in his skin has been significantly reduced. I will definitely order more when he finishes this bag.
