Selfishly, any treat that is delicious, coveted, and easy to divide into bite-sizes pieces is pretty much perfect in my book. And they aren't messy to handle, either. My two senior pups (14 and 17) can barely sit still waiting for their pieces. The treats are softish but firm, making them easy for the young ones and elders to chew. You can make them last a long time, depending on the size of the piece you break off. Over the years, some of my dogs would start to act ho-hum when offered certain treats. But not with these Jerky treats. When I visit my daughter's home, I take a couple chews for her 12-year-old fussy eater. He's been a huge fan since day one.

Sneaky pea protein

I’ve been ordering this chicken treat for months. In my most recent shipment, I just noticed that they snuck pea protein into the ingredients! Nowhere is it shown

I’ve been ordering this chicken treat for months. In my most recent shipment, I just noticed that they snuck pea protein into the ingredients! Nowhere is it shown on the chewy website or the pictures of the product. Peas and other legumes are not good for dogs - it increases their risk of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. It’s a bit misleading that consumers are not informed that the ingredients have changed. I have removed this product from my auto ship. The steak flavor version doesn’t not have pea protein, yet.
