About BLUE Buffalo
Blue Buffalo began with unconditional love and some furry inspiration from a large breed Airedale, Blue. When Blue's family started a pet food company, their vision was clear. They wanted every pet parent to be able to feed their pet with the same care they would feed family. So they created the #1 natural pet specialty food to help furry family members live happy, healthy lives. Of course, they named it after Blue.

Like so many others, I have been buying these dog treats for YEARS because they were soft and easy for my dog to chew. Not anymore. The last 3 bags have been like rocks. I thought I got a bad batch so I ordered again and again but now I know the company changed the ingredients and they are intentionally selling these rocks.
Do not buy. These are bad for older dogs, dogs with fewer teeth, puppies, and they are now TERRIBLE training treats!

Changed the formula
We have a senior pug. These treats used to be perfect for him - small and soft. In the last 2 orders (thought the first was a fluke) these have been hard as pebbles. So disappointing. Need to find a new treat for Gus.

Worst.Change.Ever
I have to agree with the numerous recent reviews posted here and on the Blue Buffalo website. My little rescue mix, who is now elderly and has no teeth, looked forward to these formerly soft & tasty treats every day (and especially before bedtime) until I purchased new 10 oz. bags of chicken and salmon flavors. The new formulation is hard as a rock, and I honestly cannot recommend them for ANY dog, regardless of age, size, or dental condition. I have been feeding my dogs Blue Buffalo products for over 30 years, but this is absolutely the most thoughtless and irresponsible product change.

Completely change recipe
I have been ordering these treats for quite some time. I placed an order and received it this morning. Much to my surprise, Blue has change these treats. They were soft treats which I liked for my small dogs with very few teeth. They are not so hard my dogs can't chew them. I compared by prior bag ordered to the ones I received today and the list of ingredients are not even the same. They changed the recipe completely. I will no longer be ordering ANY Blue products.

Hard
Hard as rocks! Buy at local store and normally good. These were not. Couldn’t feed to my puppy

changed completely - for the worst
The change in formulation and consistency of these treats is NOT GOOD. They are now HARD. The salmon ones have been like this for a while. My small dogs with very few teeth cannot eat them now. I will not be ordering them again, either the chicken or salmon, unless Chewy informs me that these have gone back to previous ingredients and process of making them.

Defective treats
Defective 10oz bags for 3 months. Hard as a rock! The smaller bags are good quality. It would be nice to get the better price though with a 10oz bag. Chewy has been kind to re-send, but those are hard as a rock too. Can't use them.

hard treats
The past three bags I have bought are very hard. Threw one away and have two unopened. I have been purchasing these treats for a long time Not sure why I am getting obviously old treats. They should be soft training treats.

New formula?
I've been buying these treats along with the different flavors offered. These new ones I got are a different texture, much more harder. They are pretty hard to break in two. My boyfriend even asked me if i gotten different treats for them. They also come with a moisture pack, something that wasn't included before. The color is also darker and it's got more of a rounder shape than the original rectangular one.

Changed recipe 5 stars to 1 star
These were our go to before they changed the recipe and made them hard. I wonder how many dogs will go due the vet by accidentally getting the silica packet.
