I typically buy treats every time my subscription of dry dog food is sent. I have two small dogs. One is a Chiweenie, and the other is a Beagle/American Staff mix. They absolutely love their treats, and the duck treats are a new treat for them. This is the first time buying them, and they love getting their treats. The beagle/American Staff mix puts weight on very easily, and so I’ve cut her food back so she can drop a few pounds. Because of that, she always acts like her throat’s been cut. I can give her a few treats, and it kind of tricks her into thinking she’s eating more. Poor thing, she’s one of those, “lights on, but nobody’s home” kind of dog. You can’t help but love her because she’s so dang sweet. I would highly recommend these treats, whether you want to use them as training treats, or to fool your dog into thinking she/he’s eating all during the day, when they’ve actually been put on a diet. They think the duck treats are very tasty.
These have been my go-to treats for a couple years now, especially since my dog has chicken allergies. HOWEVER. They recently changed the formula and I can't use them anymore. They used to be soft and easy for my dog to chew, the last bag I got they were shaped differently, smaller, and hard as rocks even though the best by date was fine. Sorry Blue Buffalo, I'll have to move on to something else now!
Used to love these for my 2 small toothless dogs. Now they’re hard as rock. Gonna have to throw away several unopened bags. Would’ve been nice if Blue Buffalo let us know they were totally changing the texture of these! Won’t ever buy again.
I have purchased these in the past and the treats were easy to break apart (soft and crumbly). I don’t know if they changed the formula or process for making these but on my last order the treats were hard as rocks. I could not even break them apart by hand, had to use a knife and my dog had trouble chewing them. The best by date on the packages indicates these are not stale. I contacted customer service and they sent me a replacement order, but these bags also had the same issue.
Spoke with Blue Buffalo, they took out the chickpeas and replaced with potato and tapioca, dog won’t eat them, hard as a rock, 6 bags in the trash. Blue bag is what they are supposed to be like, scared to order those now, because they changed that recipe too.
These a great treats for our small aging buddies. I always look for soft treats because they're missing teeth and can't chew as well anymore. We trust Blue products but these are quite expensive at the regular price. I bought them on a promo and will buy them again when they are on a promo. 5 stars on promo, 4 at regular price.
My pup likes these treats. Easy to chew, grain free.
First time user of the Blue Buffalo Trail Treats Duck Grain-Free.......my three doggies love them. Will have to purchase more for sure.
I have two pit bulls a blue brindle and the other is white with Merle ticks Both are allergic to chicken and beef It is hard to find treats that they can tolerate especially when training for tasks both are service dogs. They absolutely love these duck treats and will do anything I ask of them during training
Our lab absolutely loves these. They’ve made all kinds of training crazy easy. The 4oz bag is also the perfect size to fit in a hoodie pocket making them very convenient on the go.
