I've been getting this chew for a while as my pup really loves it. However, a few months ago the price increased, which was not ideal, but fine. In my most recent order, I bought three chews, and they were all incredibly small. Two out of the three chews did not even have any marrow in them and my pup didn't even bother chewing on those. The only one that had some marrow was also really small, probably two-thirds the size of my old one, so my small-medium pup went through it very quickly. For the price and the size, I don't think I'll repurchase.
I've purchased other antlers in the past that have lasted weeks. For some reason these disintegrated within a day and one of them broke off in shards so I had to take it away for risk of one of the dogs swallowing something sharp. I'm not sure why this would be, since they appear to simply be natural, cut antlers, but for some reason they just didn't last and didn't seem safe. The dogs loved the taste of them, but I just don't think I would purchase these particular ones again.
I am a huge fan of Chewy and think the value is usually good. The pieces of elk antler I received were a joke. I am a huge fan of Chewy and think the value is usually good. The pieces of elk antler I received were so small I was shocked. Too small to give to my dog. What a waste of money.
I have had a lot of chewers over the years. I almost always buy them Elk antlers. I have found these at Chewy to be the best. They are clean and reasonably priced. My dogs love them and they don't splinter.
I've always gotten these for my pups as they last a long, long time. The splits are best for small babies and puppies. When I brought home my new baby it was time to get her one for her very own. She doesn't let it get to far away, her favorite chew toy!
I know I ordered the "small" size but this was soooo small, I was shocked. Not worth it. He finished it in like 3 minutes.
We ordered the small antler and got a tiny antler. It was not even 4 inches long and that was measuring the longest possible length of the bone. Pretty let down for the price.
Both of my English Labs love these chews. They are great quality and last them a couple of weeks. We order them monthly and they are excited every time the Chewy Box is at our door.
I feel like I’ve ordered these antlers before and they were great and very durable. However, on my most recent purchase of these the quality was VERY bad!! It seemed to be cheaply made. I’m not sure if maybe it was a bad batch? Anything could be possible! Anyway, It usually takes my border collie/chihuahua mix puppy (who is 45lbs/11 months old) a very long time to get through these things! At least 2-4 months. Unfortunately, the last two I received he went through in two DAYS!! He finished the marrow in under three hours and started breaking off bits of the antler itself. It wasn’t until the second day that I noticed the parts he bit off were very sharp. I took it away immediately and got rid of it. I gave the other one a chance thinking it was just the one antler that was no good and the same thing happened! Either way just to be on the safe side I will no longer be getting these.
Our 6 month old Golden Retriever is full of energy. He runs with the big dogs all day and still has energy when the family is ready for some quiet time. He finds great entertainment value with these Antlers. We were concerned with other chew items (rawhide, bully sticks, etc) can be hazardous and he's just not interested in Kong balls, even when there's a treat inside. These antlers keep him occupied and we get some down time -- works out great!
