good as a part of a balanced diet!

    By on

my mice love this stuff, but it'd be a pretty awful idea to feed them this alone due to its fat content, sugar content, and use of food dyes. to balance that out to an extent, this food contains probiotic bacteria and antioxidants which are not only very good but a bit of a rarity. I feed this to my mice at a ratio of 2:3 with the larger share being Oxbow Mouse & Young Rat food, and I think that's sort of the upper limit of how much of this you should give to your lil critters. (I'm not an expert though) I'd probably reccomend the natural version of this food instead, and I'll likely switch over to that one after my current bag is complete, but overall this is a pretty sensible choice in moderation my mice love this stuff, but it'd be a pretty awful idea to feed them this alone due to its fat content, sugar content, and use of food dyes. to balance that out to an extent, this food contains probiotic bacteria and antioxidants which are not only very good but a bit of a rarity. Not too bad in a pinch

    By on

This is not too bad as a sometimes supplement. My rats eat most but not all of it. I prefer to make my own dry supplement mix with higher quality ingredients but this is an adequate temporary substitute. Definitely NOT a daily food however & only recommended as a supplement to healthy daily diet.

    Just Great!

    By on

My mouse Penny is a picky diva. I've tried several brands of mouse food and she won't touch the pellet or donut looking kibble ones. She's more into seeds and dried veggies which IMO is better for them. It also has treat kibble included in it. Penny approves this food. This brands seed treat pouch is also a winner.

    All baby's approved

    By on

All my little baby's love this one. Can't say what they think. But the bowl gets empty. So they must like it. They leave 2 things behind shells and a seed they won't eat.

    Rats love it

    By on

My Rats absolutely love this food. One bit a whole in the bag to get to the food. I like that there's dried fruit and not just nuts and seeds.

    lucky charms for rats.

    By on

This is great to add with a more complete diet food. For us this is essentially the marshmallows in lucky charms where for example I get the oxbow adult rat food, so those are there letters of lucky charms. It’s great to add some flavors in there diet as well as a helpful teeth trimmer from the seeds and corn.

    Not so great!

    By on

Just because your mouse or rat like this stuff doesn't mean its necessarily good for them. They're like kids, eating candy instead of dinner.

    Great Treat, Horrible Diet

    By on Top 50 Contributor

This is a great treat, but a horrible diet. As a treat, the Ratties, Mice, Hamsters, and Gerbils LOVE it, but I would only feed it MAYBE once a month, as the fat content is too high, there's too much fatty nuts & seeds, too much sugar, a lot of corn, too many artificial colors and a few other unhealthy ingredients, and not enough protein and other healthy ingredients included in this "diet". However, I totally don't mind giving it to all of these guys every once in awhile! The Rats think it's okay but usually prefer their higher quality, expensive, fresh foods instead. Most of the Mice tend to enjoy it, but some think it's nasty, the Gerbils think it's good, but they're opinion is similar to This is a great treat, but a horrible diet. Most of the Mice tend to enjoy it, but some think it's nasty, the Gerbils think it's good, but they're opinion is similar to the Mice, and the Hamsters love it, of course. But as I mentioned before, I would avoid feeding them too much of this stuff. Rats and Mice can't digest corn products or some of the artifitical stuff, but it's okay in moderation. However, Gerbils and Hamsters can easily digest corn and a small amount of it should actually be provided in their daily diet, but the high fat and sugar content is very unhealthy, especially for Hamsters, as they are prone to obesity and getting Type 2 Diabetes...but this is an excellent treat in moderation! The ingredients and the mixture in this diet here are better than the "Brown's Tropical Carnival Natural Rat & Mouse diet". I would avoid the "Natural" kind altogether, since literally 80% of the bag are Sunflower Seeds. I hope this helps! :D … more

    My mice love it, but...

    By on

Yes, my mice do like this food a lot, but I did read a lot of complaints about it not being a complete diet. I combine this with my regular food, and they seem to be good with it.
