Wow....I am in pure shock because I have always had a good experience with Chewy...Until I unknowingly opened this treat bag which was clearly the source of the drugstore beetle. Since I am no bug expert, it took me a little bit to actually find out what the bug was and what to check as the source. They feed on pretty much everything except cast iron, and are common in products like seeds or even dry pet food. So disappointing as I have to throw literally everything away that was in the closet with these treats, so I'll probably never order from Chewy again to avoid this again and will no longer be able to recommend Chewy.
My dog LOVES these treats! I got them to keep her busy while I'm working and I can't believe how long they last. She's a big chewer and these treats keep her completely occupied for at least half an hour. They tend to leave some crumbs stuck to her face and bed/blanket, but the (minimal) cleanup is honestly worth it.
This treat is way to large for a small/medium sized dog. I think it better suited for a 50+ lb dog. My 9 lb chihuahua and 15 lb terrier suffered bleeding gums with this product.
3-year-old Aussie vs. most bones and treats = 5 minutes of peace. 3-year-old Aussie vs. Chewnolas = 20 minutes of peace. She is what you call a "heavy chewer". Anyone who knows Australian Shepherds knows that they are very smart and their energy is never-ending. This means that a bored Aussie is a naughty Aussie. She loves these "granola bars" as we call them. She likes to eat all of the outer granola type coating off first and then chew on the inner core for a while. She completely devours the entire thing and then is much happier and rests for a while.
My puppy loved the tough textured outside. I was surprised how long it took him to eat it he normally blows thru his chews and treats.
My lab loves these best and they do last a while compared to most treats. I haven't had a vet trip to have her "expressed" since I started feeding these. I can't promise it would work for you, but it sure has worked for us.
I did not realize that the product could not be given to a dog under 20 pounds. Mine is 11 pounds, Will pass them on to someone who has bigger dogs.
Do NOT give these to your babies. It nearly killed my Dane. Do NOT give rawhide in any form!
My dogs not a fan of these-but-just due to they are very fussy-I keep trying new things to find something they will CHEW ON..
Not long a good my husband had a health crisses. As EMS was takeing him out on the strecher. I gave out dog Abby a Chewnola Busy bone to keep her busy while I was gone. I did not put the bag bag back on the shelf. When I got home the bag was on the floor with no bone in it. Abby had taken an unchewed bone and put it in my husbands hospital bed and another in my bed. Covering each with a part of the blanked, She put a fresh bone in her dog bed under the window and had 2 partly chewed bones in the living room.
