Would this work for 1 large (lab) and 1 small dog (westie)

Caldwell’s Original Dual Leash gives you the convenience of walking two dogs even if the dogs are different breeds.
I have two Rottweilers each around 110 lbs. Will this hold up walking my two dogs?

This leash can be used with large dogs.
Is this leash too heavy duty for two small Yorkies (7.5 lbs & 6 lbs)

This leash was made to withstand the strength of 2 large dogs, but has been used with smaller dogs. Some of our pet parents have noted that it could be a bit lighter for smaller breeds. Caldwell does offer a leash coupler that can split one manageable leash into two leashes: Caldwell's Original Two Dog Leash Coupler (Item #106444).

Love this leash!

I've been looking for a double leash without elastic and this is exactly what I was looking for. Allows control over both dogs individually and together. Highly recommend!

Best for Medium/Larger Dogs

I loved the idea of having a shorter lead for person and longer leash for dogs. But for my small dogs the longer leash was awkward and they kept getting tangled My larger dogs are great using this.

No more tangled leashes!

This made walks significantly more pleasant immediately. My girls dart back and forth between each other while sniffing on walks, and with 2 leashes they inevitably get tangled every few minutes, so I'd just stop and untwist them. No more! Now they just spin on the ring and I stand there calmly holding the handle.

Clip separated from leash and my dog took off!

Well, this was great until I was walking my dogs and he pulled too hard to chase something and the metal clip detached from the leash and he took off. I have used all sorts of leashes and have never had this happen. I bought two other leashes from this company and now I do not trust either one.

Works great for 2 goldendoodles

Easy to use, comfortable, perfect length. Before this I used two leashes and they pulled my arm in two directions. With this, they pull on each other. Much better!

Not for excitable dogs

I bought this leash because several reviewers said it was good for walking big dogs. I have a 6 year old perfectly trained shepherd and a new rescue lab mixed breed. The new dog has no leash training and acts more like a game fish on a line than a dog. The leash is way too long and not adjustable, there is no way to hold it for your 2 dogs to walk in a heel. Also even with only one dog trying to chase squirrels or jump on other d dog walkers, with the length of the leash I could easily be pulled to the ground. My 6’4”, 222# husband likes it fine

Better than the 2-dog couplers

My corgis (who are a bit chaotic on leash) and I are trying this after using a 2-dog coupler for a while. I like the longer length for each dog - much less dragging each other around - and the shorter length from the split to my hand - no more taking in and letting out the main leash so it doesn’t drag. Walking feels a little more relaxed and I feel like I have more control over each individual dog. The braided webbing is lightweight and pliable, but strong. The handle is comfortable.

Great quality

This leash has made it so much easier to walk my two dogs. Using two leashes I would have to continuously untangle them. With this one the swivel head takes care of that. Very Happy!!

Made Walkng 2 Dogs So Much Easier

My son got a puppy and, of course, I needed to walk out his energy when walking my own dog. This leash worked so well. It is the perfect length and easy for me to handle. I love how the leash swivels when they cross each other. I was always untangling the 2 separate leashes that I originally walked them with. I'm very happy with this purchase.
