How do I measure my dog’s paws in order to choose the correct size? Length of the pad?

To ensure the coziest fit for your dog's paws, you can use the paw outlines in the attached photo to help you measure. You should measure from the bottom of the heel pad to the tip of the longest toenail.

Too bulky for small dogs

These are so bulky my 6lb dog can’t flex his front paws. Tried these for several months. The bulk of the toe and sole forced him to walk on point like a ballerina

These are so bulky my 6lb dog can’t flex his front paws. Tried these for several months. The bulk of the toe and sole forced him to walk on point like a ballerina. He just doesn’t have enough weight to get the boot to flex. The leg length is also really high for a little dog, and the boots come up over his onesie sleeves. I use these on just his hind paws, and put Pawz booties on the front. I wish CP put the top tightening toggle on the sides instead of the back of the boot - the elastic and toggle stick out far enough that they get pooped on. I think these are probably better for dogs who weigh 15lbs or more. I’ll keep using the booties on his hind feet while I look for something with a little more flex. It takes a lot of trial and error to get them on. Make sure the dog’s toe is all the way to the tip of the boot before securing the Velcro strap. I lift up two of my Yorkies legs to force him to extend his paw all the way into the boot. Lightly pinch the tip of paw to keep it in the tip of the boot while you tighten the Velcro. And REALLY tighten that Velcro. Then pull the elastic toggle strap at the top as tight as it will go. For long haired dogs, be very careful tightening and loosening the top toggle - the toggle (or your fingers) can easily pinch leg fur. My dog lost a couple of chunks of hair when the boots came off during a walk. Because they will fall off. At least one falls off my Yorkie on every walk. I keep a close eye so I don’t lose them - they’re expensive and it would be nice if CP added a way to put your name and number on or in the boots.

Fingers crossed!!!

So far so good!! These boots arrived as described. I have a 6.5lb Yorki Poo, and measured her paws as instructed. I ordered a size 1 and they fit her great.

So far so good!! These boots arrived as described. I have a 6.5lb Yorki Poo, and measured her paws as instructed. I ordered a size 1 and they fit her great. She has never worn boots before and she performed the silly initial dog walk that is so common. I played fetch with one of her toys in the living room for distraction, and in a couple short minutes took her out in the snow, and also walked on the sidewalk with her. No problem!! The silly walk went away as soon as I took her out to do her business and go for the short walk. I primarily got these to help her paws from freezing up on her in the snow while going out to do her business.

high quality boots

i ordered these for my 15lb schitzu/bischon mix. i was happily surprised about the excellent quality of the boots and would recommend to others for sure. unfortunately,

i ordered these for my 15lb schitzu/bischon mix. i was happily surprised about the excellent quality of the boots and would recommend to others for sure. unfortunately, they are too tall for my pup who has short legs. She also has kind of weird joints in the front and the velcro strap is too near the back of her foot so that she ends up walking on the strap and is uncomfortable. We have had a lot of trouble finding boots that fit her well. so I will sadly be returning for a full refund only because i just don't think the fit will be right for her even if i order a different size, but really worth the price if you have a dog with "normal" legs. :)

Wonderful addition for winter

My island dog has not seen temperatures anywhere near as low as northeastern or Midwestern winters. Got these boots as she was weight shifting and lifting her legs

My island dog has not seen temperatures anywhere near as low as northeastern or Midwestern winters. Got these boots as she was weight shifting and lifting her legs due to the cold. They were easy to apply and fit her paws very well. She had a few minutes of high stepping and was comfortably running and jumping in them. The boots didn't shift, move or detach. Looking forward to using them all winter long!

This was the third pair of boots that we have tried, and they are really great. She wouldn’t even take a single step in the other brands we tried. These are Soft but made of really good material, that will give her the protection she needs this winter
