We have switched food for our 2.5 year old ampbt about 3 different times now trying to find something to control his allergies and doesn't upset his stomach. He finally has a kibble that doesn't upset his stomach and his coat is so shiny! What I love most is he barely sheds now. I am happy with this product. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because I do have to top the kibble with a tasty treat, like salmon skin that we don't eat when make our salmon in order for him to eat it. He won't eat the kibble on its own.
My dog absolutely hates this. He is usually very eager about his food/treats but he won't go anywhere this. Pretty disappointed. We tried to feed it to him with other additives or kibble toppers but did not work. Not to mention when dog food was the only thing that changed in his diet, he seemed to have developed severe tear stains all of a sudden. 0/10 would not recommend.
My veterinarian said this is one of the few grain free foods that is acceptable to feed dogs with allergies and does not cause heart issues. My only reason for giving this food 4/5 was due to my dog having HORRIBLE gas and soft poops with it... I will have to change if she does not adjust because I am not sure her stomach is agreeing with this food. This is the 3rd type of food I have tried for my crazy allergy golden retriever. Its a solid food with just ONE protein and no hidden chicken. Buy this food!
Our mutt enjoys Canadae food. He is an older boy and has a sensitive belly. So we give him food that he is able to digest and doesn't come back up. He's been on canadae for over 4 years and he has shown he tolerates it better then any food he's had previously.
My little Henry just LOVES any kind of seafood. So I thought I would try salmon dog food for him. He won't touch this food. So I'm back to his old food, royal canin, which he was very happy to get it back. Now, what to do with a 40$ bag of dog food?
My two dogs would not touch this. I put a little in their food each day to get them used to it before using it as primary and they would eat around it or I'd find it on the floor and the rest of their food gone.
Switched my Great Dane's over to this food because they were having some skin issues that I was unsure if it was related to their current dog food. It seems to be working ...skin looks great and my dogs love it
Although our 12 year old shepherd/lab likes the taste, he gets very soft poops because of it. He has allergies and I was hopeful, but will need to continue the search for another food.
Since feeding this to our little Westie, who has sensitivities and allergies, her itchiness has subsided considerably. It took her a few days to adjust to this formula, but now she gulps it down with no problem. And her bowel movements have become more frequent and regular. Bravo, Canidae!
I have been using this for the last 4 years. But lately the bag comes with so much crumbs. Might have to switch brands now
