This food was difficult for my senior dog to eat. She would immediately give up as it would get stuck in her mouth. I had to mix water and other wet food to soften it up.
Tasty and healthy, great as a treat when frozen in ice cube tray. It helps my dog to keep a healthy weight.
Love this brand and switched to it when my dog was experiencing allergies. It has helped. However, this particular flavor of canned food FREQUENTLY is out of stock and part of managing our pup’s allergies is to stick to the same protein so it’s super frustrating!
My Sophie Mae loved her new food hopefully her skin issues will Get better
This canned food has a nice, smooth texture, and is not watery or gelatinous at all. The smell is mild (to me) but the dogs love it and love licking the spoon. I mash up about one tablespoon with their kibble for meals, and can also hide a pill inside it when I need to give them medicine. The can is easy to open. One can lasts us about three days, and I have not noticed any change in texture or smell over the three days.
Someone gave me two cases of this brand of dog food, so when I ran out, I purchased more. This is not the same flavor as that has been discontinued but this was close enough. The texture is a bit like pate’ but that was only strange to me. My dogs aren’t too keen in this flavor, they preferred the Duck flavor, but nevertheless the eat it all. I mix it by adding 1tbsp with grain-free dry for the little dog and 3 tbsps with grain-free dry for the large dog along with a bit of water in each bowl so as to coat the dry food. This creates a “gravy” and without it, my large breed boy will just lip around the dry to eat the wet. After years of feeding them Purina, I noticed that they were sluggish, itchy, their coats dull but more importantly their breath smelled positively FETID. After one week of feeding them this brand, the itchies stopped, their coats look much better and the FETID breath is G-O-N-E! Additionally, another really great way to tell if the dogs are eating good food, check their poop. If there’s lots of poop then this tells you that the food is mostly junk. Now that my dogs have been eating this, there’s less poop to pick up and this lets me know that they’re processing the good stuff with less bad stuff elimination. Yup, the quality of the poop tells the whole story. I will admit that this is a bit pricey, but for better health it’s worth it. Just like we’d do for ourselves. I will be ordering more for my dogs.
My dog has to have a non poultry diet and her normal canned food has been out of stock for a while. I tried this as a replacement. It’s really awful. She hated it, it’s stiff and was hard to get out of the can, nothing ‘wet’ about it. She ate a couple bites and nope, what a waste of a case of expensive food. Maybe ok for dogs who like very heavy firm paste type food but not my pup.
I only ordered this product b/c you have not had my regular dog food in a very long time. . Natural Balance LID fish and sweet potato I'm thinking they are not making this product anymore but no one seems to know.....I don't like the texture, seems stiff not like NB.
VERY NUTRITIOUS, HEALTHY FOOD THAT IS GREAT FOR A DOG THAT HAS MANY ALLERGIES TO OTHER FOODS.
She hasn't had any of these cans yet but when we were still fostering her, we were given Canidae cans and she loves it. Canidae food smells so good I'd probably like it, too
