Very hard and dry

These are the opposite of soft and moist. I got these to use as a pill pocket since one of my dogs is on a whitefish novel protein diet prescribed by the internist

These are the opposite of soft and moist. I got these to use as a pill pocket since one of my dogs is on a whitefish novel protein diet prescribed by the internist. I used to wrap pills in the bil jac training treats which were so soft and easy to use. These are a joke. The second I push a pill into the “soft” treat, it breaks apart and pulverizes as I try to wrap it around the pill. The only thing that kind of works is if I soap in water while doing it but it makes a mess. These make a fine treat by itself, but don’t expect to use it as a pill pocket if you’re in search of a chewy whitefish treat. Even as a standalone treat, they’re too dry and hard for my liking. Not sure why they made it like this.

Good scent but hardish

I have tried several treats that have a good fishy scent but were not easy to cut because they are star or heart-shaped. This one, as with each in that category,

I have tried several treats that have a good fishy scent but were not easy to cut because they are star or heart-shaped. This one, as with each in that category, is a heart shape and is "hard-soft," so I doubt too many people would give these as a whole to older small dogs (ours are chihuahua mixes). Therefore, I cut these hearts twice, but invariably, they crack, and I have a lot of crumbles for my efforts. Both dogs do eat them, but my chihuahua/corgi mix does not appreciate this one as much as others. In all, these are a decent treat but one that I will try to avoid buying in the future.
