what are the natural flavors listed in the ingredients?? thanks
Answer by ChewyDec 07, 2017
The Natural Flavors will come from a broth made from the liver and fat of the protein. So, the kangaroo will use kangaroo broth, lamb will use lamb broth, duck uses duck broth, etc. This is done for additional flavoring so the protein tastes as it should.

Approximately how many cups per 27 pound bag?
Answer by ChewyAug 01, 2017
There are approximately 108 cups in the 27 pound bag.

Where is the Kangaroo meat processed and packaged?
Answer by ChewyMay 07, 2022
Zignature develops and crafts their recipes with nutritionists and food scientists and make their products in Perham, Minnesota, and Mitchell, South Dakota. They source ingredients from quality sources around the world. The Trout, Salmon and Whitefish come from the Pacific Northwest; Turkey from the Midwestern United States; farm-raised Duck from Western France; Lamb from the farmlands of New Zealand; and Kangaroo comes from Australia. In addition, fruits and vegetables are from farms across North America, depending on the growing seasons; Vitamins and Minerals come from both North America and France.

If the kangaroos you use in your food are wild-caught, how do you know if they are sick or diseased, etc?
Answer by ChewyJan 08, 2018
All protein sources are rigorously tested before food production starts.

Kangaroo great option

My young airedale has had irritable stomach issues and trouble digesting food. He has had good luck with Ultaminio hydrolyzed protein, but has lost interest in it. We tried the Kangaroo limited ingredient formula and found it to work well. And our dog is very interested in the flavor as well. Good choice. (plus I think it makes him jump higher :) )

Great food

Always looking for a decent limited protein food as my dog is allergic to most proteins. This was easy to switch over to from their old diet, no gastro issues during the change. The price is the only thing I’m on the fence about. Going to try their catfish to see how that goes as this is out of stock. Since there isn’t a decent alternative in a similar meat it’s risky to depend on a food that’s going to be out of stock regularly without a close alternative to be able to grab. At least with the fish varieties I can grab a different fish meal.

Our Dogs love it!

We have 3 dogs (2 Toy Poodle, 1 senior Lhasa Apso ). I have tried Taste of the Wild, Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, and a few others over the years and one of our dogs kept having all kinds of issues with stomach, skin and eye allergies. we Switched over to this food a few months ago and everyone is doing amazing. It’s a bit pricey but worth it, and they all like it.

Finally some relief!

My German Shepherd puppy has SUFFERED with food allergies for an entire year. I’ve tried so many different brands and different protein options, we finally did the elimination diet and a sensitive test. This food has been the miracle we needed. My dog finally can sleep through the night, his behavior has improved greatly, and he’s happy! He’s coat is amazing, the shedding has reduced greatly, and the diarrhea is gone!!! Thank you Zignature.

Things changed

My dog has been happily eating this product for several years. The contents of this package is different. The odor has changed and the kibble size has decreased. Perhaps the recipe was adjusted? I do not know, but my dog is far less interested from the very first serving from the most recent bag. He is eating it, but less enthusiastically and is always leaving some behind even when we provide a bit less. We have always been happy with the Zignature products we purchased over the years, but looks like it is time for a change.

Best food ever for our babies

I can’t say enough about this food. We have 6 dogs (2 Frenchies, 2 senior Chihuahuas, 1 Akita, 1 Husky). My husband and I have tried Taste of the Wild, Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, and a few others over the years and four of our dogs kept having all kinds of issues with stomach, skin and eye allergies. Our one dog has been on the cytopoint shot for a few years now, another on steroids. Switched over to this food about 2 months ago and everyone is doing amazing. No more shots or steroids and all stomach and skin issues have completely resolved. It’s a bit pricey but worth it, it also leaves their coats so soft and shiny.

so far so good

well, i switched to this dog food as per recommendation of my vet for my frenchie and lab. My frenchie had issues with chicken as she would start scratching her face and ears like crazy. It didn't matter what brand it would be, if it had chicken - she would go crazy scratching. This dog food so far causes no itching, thus I will continue buying it as my dogs showed interest in eating this food which is a big plus.

Love the food!

My bully has allergies and skin problems; her stool was also very runny. I tried other foods that just didn’t work or she didn’t like. Then I tried this brand and it has helped bring her fur back, plus her stool is normal and she loves it! It’s a bit on the pricey side, but it is worth it! Highly recommend!

Alternative protein fail

Recommend by the specialist as an alternative protein source for a dog with food allergies as well as IBD. Nearly 4 days he refused it- even tried with topping, warming, etc.
