Your pup will enjoy a delicious dinner made with real Venison from New Zealand, wholesome peas, chickpeas, and flaxseed. About Zignature Dog Food

Learning From Nature

Learning From Nature

Zignature took all of nature's best ingredients and added key nutrients to create a dog food with complete nutrition. In these Physiologically Tuned formulas, meat always comes first, and they've eliminated common allergy-inducing proteins and fillers that are hard to digest. These grain- and gluten-free recipes feature premium proteins, low glycemic carb sources and a limited number of ingredients. It's exactly what your pup should be eating—nothing more, and nothing less.

Meat-First Philosophy

The first ingredient in any list is the most important, because it tells you what the majority of the food is made of. Some commercial pet foods take the easy way out with high-starch carbs near the top of the list. In each of Zignature's dry foods, meat not only comes first, but also second. A quality animal protein source starts off the recipe, followed by a meat or fish meal for an extra helping of the amino acids your pet needs and the flavor he craves.

Recipe for a Happy Tummy

Recipe for a Happy Tummy

All of Zignature's formulas are free of the most common canine allergen—chicken. And that includes chicken eggs, meal and by-products. As hypoallergenic foods, both wet and dry formulas also avoid the usual sources of stomach upset, including gluten, grains, corn, wheat, soy and dairy. Zignature never uses binding agents that are full of simple carbs and starches; instead, these recipes have low glycemic legumes that deliver extra protein and fiber.

Simple Is Best

Zignature isn't just the diet nature intended—it's even better. They've improved on nature's recipe to give your pup the right amount of each nutrient, and they've done it with the fewest possible ingredients. Just like meals in the wild, these recipes are limited in content for easy digestion and less chance of food sensitivities. These limited ingredient diets have single protein sources, so they're easy to rotate to give your dog a taste of something new.

Only the Best Ingredients

Only the Best Ingredients

To create these nourishing dishes, Zignature gathered the best possible ingredients from trusted sources around the world. Trout, salmon and whitefish all come from the Pacific waters of the Northwest; turkey is raised in the Midwest; duck comes from farms in Western France; kangaroo is brought over from Australia; and venison and lamb are delivered from New Zealand farmlands. Healthy fruits and veggies are harvested from several North American farms based on the season.

Ingredients

Zignature makes nutritious formulas with no artificial flavors, preservatives or colors.

CHICKPEAS: Low-glycemic legumes that promote stable blood sugar and provide an excellent source of dietary fiber, extra protein and copper.

FLAXSEED: Derived from whole, ground seeds of the Flax plant for an outstanding offering of omega-3 fatty acids for coat health, plus soluble fiber for digestion.

ALFALFA MEAL: A natural grass that's rich in vitamins A and C, niacin and calcium, and it also makes a great source of protein and fiber.

SUNFLOWER OIL: Pressed from sunflower oil, it supplies the omega-6 essential fatty acids that your pet needs to maintain skin and coat health.

  • My mini schnauzers favorite new kibble.

    By on

I had never considered any Zignature kibble before being given a free sample of Venison and Trout/Salmon formulas at my local pet store last month. Have to say I had my doubts, my beloved 2 year old Jake was an Acana guy through and through so I thought. Needless to say Jake tore into both these kibbles like nobody's business to my amazement. Full disclosure, Jake is a picky eater if there ever was one, and at times will make it a point to snub his nose at a new kibble and not eat for a full 24 hours straight if he doesn't like it. Talk about stubborn, my schnauzer re-defines the very definition of canine passive aggressive culinary rejection behavior. I swear its as if he looks at me with those I had never considered any Zignature kibble before being given a free sample of Venison and Trout/Salmon formulas at my local pet store last month. I swear its as if he looks at me with those brown eyes and telepathically conveys the "not interested.. why don't you eat it" look. I still love the little bugger though, and will continue to feed him this kibble until such time my little Jake gives me that look again. … more

  • New food/new experience

    By on

I was always told dogs don't get bored with their food. Then my two dogs picked at or didn't eat for a day or two, so i spoke with our vet and he said yes they do grow weary of the same food month aftert month. So I went to Zignature (Venison and Kangaroo) as a premium brand with a high protein content. ( We were using Orijen regional red) Well it's two weeks into the new food and they show no interest unless I spike it with some cheese or ground up treats. Sooooo disappointed. I want to get a credit but not sure of the process. The dogs are a Border Collie/ Blue healer mix and a terrier/beagle/shiba mix. Not sure what I'm going to do now. Back to the drawing board!

  • Huskies love

    By on

I have 4 Siberian Huskies and they are super picky eaters. Just about all foods I've tried at least one will not like . I absolutely love this food bc not only is it grain free and doesn't make my dogs itch ,( one has bad allergies) but they all seem to really love the taste of this kibble. I don't even have to out any fish oil on it for flavor or anything. They devour it down and lick their bowls clean! Only drawback is I wish it wasn't so expensive!!

  • Best dog food I've used!!

    By on

One of my French bulldogs had bad allergies and took medicine everyday so I searched around for food that would help her allergies. I seen the venison zignature and decided to give it a try. It was a little high in price but every since I've used this I haven't had to give her medicine anymore...so worth it. I'm very happy with zignature and I have a number of different meats to choose from and they all have great ingredients in them. I just wish zignature made treats too☺

  • The pup loves this stuff!

    By on

Don't know what it is about venison foods but my 44 pound straight haired Golden Doodle loves it. He has never been one to be picky but he absolutely goes nuts for Zignature LIF Venison. He danced around the bag when I opened it, can't wait to eat when I make his breakfast and dinner and just generally seems to be a very happy pooch on this food. Wyatt says buy it when you can get it and feed it with high confidence...highly recommended!

  • Extremely Picky little guy !

    By on

To be totally fair...I think this is probably a very good dog food. I've looked at alot of labels & ingredients. I've tried all the "tricks" Ive read about. But he will only eat a couple bites (because he's hungry) that amount to maybe a tablespoon full. So....the search is back on for the food he will eat.

  • My guy not interested

    By on

We gave it a go but my one dog is not going to give a fair rating . what I saw was a kibble that had an inviting smell .After doing the merge to this food at best his stool was very light in color and loose . I can say each dog is different. I have tried more than one protein from this brand and it's just not for my guy.

There's a reason this food is always out of stock. It's absolutely phenomenal! My two chihuahua's love this food & best of all NO CHICKEN, so no itchy puppies! Chewy is great about restocking, no complaints here.

  • My doggies were in love

    By on

I tried this food for my dogs and let me tell you they are picky eaters. They liked it immediately and and I didn't even have to mix their old food into it for them to get used to it. It has all good ingredients and mostly meat no grains if I remember right. Anyways they love it, literally the only draw back was I got a bag that I was small so they ran out quickly cause they always wanted some

  • Great Food if you can get it.

    By on

My dog has allergy issues and this food works for her. Unfortunately, supply is spotty and it is often not available. Frustrating as all get out!
