Learning From Nature
Zignature took all of nature's best ingredients and added key nutrients to create a dog food with complete nutrition. In these Physiologically Tuned formulas, meat always comes first, and they've eliminated common allergy-inducing proteins and fillers that are hard to digest. These grain- and gluten-free recipes feature premium proteins, low glycemic carb sources and a limited number of ingredients. It's exactly what your pup should be eating—nothing more, and nothing less.
Meat-First Philosophy
The first ingredient in any list is the most important, because it tells you what the majority of the food is made of. Some commercial pet foods take the easy way out with high-starch carbs near the top of the list. In each of Zignature's dry foods, meat not only comes first, but also second. A quality animal protein source starts off the recipe, followed by a meat or fish meal for an extra helping of the amino acids your pet needs and the flavor he craves.

Recipe for a Happy Tummy
All of Zignature's formulas are free of the most common canine allergen—chicken. And that includes chicken eggs, meal and by-products. As hypoallergenic foods, both wet and dry formulas also avoid the usual sources of stomach upset, including gluten, grains, corn, wheat, soy and dairy. Zignature never uses binding agents that are full of simple carbs and starches; instead, these recipes have low glycemic legumes that deliver extra protein and fiber.
Simple Is Best
Zignature isn't just the diet nature intended—it's even better. They've improved on nature's recipe to give your pup the right amount of each nutrient, and they've done it with the fewest possible ingredients. Just like meals in the wild, these recipes are limited in content for easy digestion and less chance of food sensitivities. These limited ingredient diets have single protein sources, so they're easy to rotate to give your dog a taste of something new.

Only the Best Ingredients
To create these nourishing dishes, Zignature gathered the best possible ingredients from trusted sources around the world. Trout, salmon and whitefish all come from the Pacific waters of the Northwest; turkey is raised in the Midwest; duck comes from farms in Western France; kangaroo is brought over from Australia; and venison and lamb are delivered from New Zealand farmlands. Healthy fruits and veggies are harvested from several North American farms based on the season.
Ingredients
Zignature makes nutritious formulas with no artificial flavors, preservatives or colors.
CHICKPEAS: Low-glycemic legumes that promote stable blood sugar and provide an excellent source of dietary fiber, extra protein and copper.
FLAXSEED: Derived from whole, ground seeds of the Flax plant for an outstanding offering of omega-3 fatty acids for coat health, plus soluble fiber for digestion.
ALFALFA MEAL: A natural grass that's rich in vitamins A and C, niacin and calcium, and it also makes a great source of protein and fiber.
SUNFLOWER OIL: Pressed from sunflower oil, it supplies the omega-6 essential fatty acids that your pet needs to maintain skin and coat health.

Hasn’t been to the vet since!
By MapleMom on Jan 23, 2021
I found out that my girl was pretty severely allergic to chicken. I was taking her to the vet at least once a month and she vomited several times a week. The prescription food the vet recommended was full of potatoes and constipated her terribly which brought more problems, not to mention that prescription food breaks the bank.. I found Zignature duck and we have never looked back! She loves it, we haven’t been to the vet for anymore stomach issues, and it is more reasonably priced than the Rx food with potatoes as the first ingredient. Anyone concerned with DCM, I give my girl a heart supplement with Taurine and L-Carnitine by VetriScience just in case although I am pretty sure those are listed I found out that my girl was pretty severely allergic to chicken. The absolute best food for dogs with food allergies
By Sasha on Feb 13, 2021
I rescued a Vizsla with horrible ear, and skin allergies. We've been fighting this battle for over a year by being very cautious about what goes into her diet. After the completion of her first bag of Zignature limited ingredient duck dog food, her ears and skin have made a beautiful recovery. I ordered her first bag of Zignature on a Friday, and received it 48 hours later. Awesome turn around time, Chewy!! We are impressed! Sasha is one happy girl!

No More Salmon Butt!
By Salmonbutt on Jan 21, 2021
My 70lb Aussi/Berner mix had anal gland issues his whole life (hes 2) and we kept switching dog foods. One food changed the smell from salmon to iron so I knew we were getting close. We tried the chewable fiber tablets as well and they didn’t seem to do much. He didn’t like or eat the Trout and Salmon food from this same brand, but he loves the duck. Anal gland smell is gone and we no longer use the fiber chews. Hes a happy boy!

2 paws up from our picky Shepherd!
By 2Shepherds on Jan 5, 2021 Top 1000 Contributor
It's been difficult to find a high quality food our female Shepherd will eat, and especially without a lot of coaxing, toppers, etc. being needed. Zignature duck is one of them she loves, and she actually seems to prefer it over the kangaroo. So glad we decided to try it. Just received the small bag of guinea fowl to give that a go, and that variety is her favorite by far... so far! Zignature is a winner in our house, and we'll rotate varieties on autoship.

Very Satisfied
By Tykie on Feb 1, 2021
My dog is very sensitive to dog foods but this Brand does not seem to bother him. Thank goodness, I was running out of options. I know duck is not supposed to be healthy for a dog’s pancreas, but I am watching him closely and my Vet is aware of what I am giving my dog..

My Yorkie likes it
By Laurili25 on Feb 24, 2021
My finicky Yorkie loves it. Plus it’s good for him since he is allergic to beef and chicken. This food keeps him from itching. I’m glad I found it. I wish their price could also be better :(

Popular at our house
By Finnsmom on Jan 18, 2021
My puppy enjoys Zignature foods, and this duck formula is one of his favorites. The pork is his other favorite. I appreciate that Zignature offers protein options that aren't chicken, as our dog is sensitive.

Good for dogs with allergies.
By CindyLouWho on Oct 19, 2020
I switched my dog to this dog food per recommendation from the holistic pet food center. It has no grains or potato which my dog is allergic too. It’s hard to find a food without added ingredients that my dog is allergic to because most have grains or some type of potato but this one fits the bill. Lol! No pun intended. My dog likes it and hopefully it will make a difference with his skin and allergies. No side effects from the food switchover. So far so good.

Wonderful Food
By Lablover54 on Jul 17, 2020
One of my dogs is allergic to chicken, and has to have a single protein source. The foo d I used to feed them had a formula change, and so my vet and I found Zignature. My dogs love it, and for me it checks all the boxes. LID, they just changed the formula to include taurine, and my dogs are thriving. I do supplement with some grain occasionally, canned pumpkin daily, and The Missing Link Skin and Coat. At vet's advice I will also be adding Flexidin Advanced for my older dog as she is very athletic and is starting to limp occasionally. This food get my highest approval. I haven't tried other flavors yet.
