This is a great choice. We usually feed our dog frozen raw food, but I wanted to try something that was good, but a little more convenient when refrigeration was not available. Also duck and goose are usually more expensive, so I was able to add more variety to his rotation with this flavor. We rehydrate it because Fritz doesn't drink much water. He highly recommends this food.
Freeze dried dog food is expensive but this is good quality for a more reasonable price than most. I have a very fussy bischon Tzi Zu mix and she doesn’t eat a lot. She’s only 10 pounds so I am concerned about getting the right nutrients in her. Dry isn’t going to cut it and she doesn’t like anything but the turkey I cook for her. The turkey alone doesn’t give her enough. I give her one patty a day and 1/4 of fry with a little cooked turkey. She is a perfect weight and healthy. She gets the best of both worlds without breaking my wallet. No qualms about buying the Stella and chewy freeze dried at all. It’s been about six months. No itchy skin anymore either.
After much research over the years, I've tried a wide variety of high quality kibble, canned food, Rx food, and even subscription fresh food for my sensitive Yorkie who is prone to colitis. But nothing has consistently settled better with her system than Stella and Chewy's freeze dried raw. Transitioned without a hiccup (rare!), and no gas, no gurgly discomfort, and no diarrhea since starting this food months ago. Better energy, shinier coats, and less eye discharge too. I'm a bit concerned about the high fat content of freeze-dried raw, so I do feed about a 50/50 mix with premium kibble. This product pulls apart and rehydrates easily, and both my dogs attack their bowls with this mixed in. The duck is their favorite, but they find the turkey tasty too. Stella and Chewy's is SO worth it!
Food was already opened and the patties were super hard and stale. It must have gotten opened at their warehouse when it arrived. Don't have time to deal with sending back
My dog is real picky. Tried all different kind of food. A friend gave me a few discs of this food and she loves it. Highly recommend for picky eaters.
This is the only "food" I feed to my dogs. Nutritious, no fillers and ingredients are perfect.
Smells yummy...most of the time. I've been ordering these for over 5 years. Never an issue until this past year. Every once in a while they come crushed, but usually they are perfect. When I open the bag it smells good, like it's fresh real food. However, this past year I have gotten at least 3 or more bags that smell funky as compared to the usual fresh you yummy smell. I thought it was a fluke and as long as dogs ate it I wouldn't complain, but now I'm going to look at the expiration date and file a customer complaint if this happens again. These are far too expensive to get possible rancid food. I order a bag every 3 weeks and my foster dogs and my 2 schnauzers love them. Please Chewy make a visit to the manufacturing plant and check on the process with quality audits. They have always smelled good and my dogs love them. I never rehydrate, but rather feed one biscuit every morning as a treat that they look forward to! I always seal it after opening and even expel the air for freshness.
All the dogs at home and the Park absolutely adored the duck. It’s healthy too.
I don't know if this was under freeze dried or what but it was not a very good consistency and look like mud. I didn't feed it to my dog
This is the food I turn to when our Maltese gets finicky lol Works every time!
