Somethings changed with formula
Both my dogs have been on this food for years and I’ve been noticing variations in the size of the kibble/smell and something has definitely changed as both my dogs have had severe gas for the last month or so, neither of my dogs like whatever was changed with this formula/food.
So Good - Adding 2nd Dog
Our vet recommended this food for our adult Rhodesian Ridgeback about 2 years ago. His stool has been grade A ever since! Our one year old has just finished transitioning to this food from puppy food and she loves it too.
The formula has changed
I have been feeding this to my dog for over a year without any problems, I would have recommended it to anyone until now. My dog has had a severe reaction to this food. Everything from hives, itching, hair loss, and even an ear infection. Since switching from this brand to another, the itching has subsided. Now we wait for the hair to grow back.
Bad changes!
We have used this food for quite awhile. A few months ago our dog started getting really bad gas and we thought it was his treats so we discontinued them. Then with the most recent bag we opened he started throwing up yellow bile. Put him on a bland diet and he was fine. After a few days of being fine I gave him a small amount of kibble (half cup) and he threw up again! We threw away the bag and haven’t had any vomiting since. Something bad is up with this food! Chewy representative was very nice and concerned on the phone. She reimbursed us for the most recent bag. I hope no one else’s pup gets sick from this kibble.
Only food that my lab with sensitive stomach and allergies can have. He does really well with it and enjoys it.
best food
One of my dogs had pretty bad allergies to everything we tried. We went through about 10 different foods before we found this one. This is the only thing that solved almost all of his skin, stomach, and ear issues.
Fussy Dog
Didn't even notice I switched his food. :) I needed to switch his food to lower the protein percentage a bit. He's very fussy and his anxiety meds decrease his interest in food and he doesn't like change. Made the switch with no problems.
She eats it!
My white person/dog has TOO many allergies (environmental and food); this has the right ingredients and she eats it. I'm impressed w/Canidae.
Packaging review
I ordered 3 bags on sale. One came with other items and two together on their own. The one with other items got punctured during transit perhaps so some of the kibble leaked out.
Didn't work for my two
I changed from taste of the wilderness because my red heeler was getting itchy. I usually don't have this problem with a salmon blend but decided to try this salmon from. Canidae. After the first bag they seemed to adjust ok, but into the second bag my blue heeler who is never picky decided she didn't like it anymore. But what's worse is that my red heeler seems somewhat better itchy wise but his gas is horrendous. Switching them again now.
