Questions & Answers

2 Customer Questions

Can you use them at the same time?

Answer by ChewyJul 19, 2022
These may be used in combination. Capstar starts killing adult fleas within 30 minutes to give your pet quick relief from a flea infestation. One oral tablet kills over 90% of fleas within 4 hours for dogs. Capstar can be given as often as once daily, if needed, to treat a flea infestation as existing flea larvae emerge into adult fleas. This treatment will kill all the adult fleas on your dog within a day, but won't provide lasting protection against fleas. It's recommended to use Capstar on a dog with an active flea infestation while beginning a monthly flea infestation preventive such as Onguard.

can I give this to a 120lb dog?

Answer by ChewyAug 04, 2022
The Onguard Plus Flea & Tick treatment is designed for large dogs 45-88 pounds and the Capstar treatment is designed for dogs over 25 pounds.

Works with the flea cycle

This is an amazing product to kill all of the ADULT fleas withing 24 hours. However, the complete flea cycle lasts approximately a month so you will have to use

This is an amazing product to kill all of the ADULT fleas withing 24 hours. However, the complete flea cycle lasts approximately a month so you will have to use this as a head start for a heavy infestation of fleas, followed by a topical or monthly flea prevention in order to kill the complete flea cycle. Long explanation short: I definitely recommend

Didn't HELP

I bought the combo packs this year because our dogs got fleas - which they never get fleas - they don't interact with other animals ever. But we do have a park

I bought the combo packs this year because our dogs got fleas - which they never get fleas - they don't interact with other animals ever. But we do have a park behind our home. We have always treated the yard with Tal-Star or Bifen granuales and have never needed any other products till this year. I can say this combo didn't help even after 2 treatments. We have been treating the yard and inside the home with no releaf. Fleas were found even after 3 hours on 2 of our pets which thee Capstar was to still be working for up to 4 hours. Disappointed - will buy directly from our vet next time.

Two ways to attack fleas!!

First time I've seen an oral flea treatment so I was thrilled to have a 2 pronged approach to eliminating the fleas on our dogs.
