Do you have to use the wall anchors or can you secure it another way? Is it flexible material? Does it leave residue on the staircase if you remove it?

This flexible protector may be fastened to the endpost with cable ties. For a more secure attachment to the end post, drill a 1/16 inch hole through the plastic and into the endpost, then secure the plastic with the screws and washers provided. If end of railing does not have a post, curl the plastic against the wall and drill 1/16 inch holes through the plastic and into the wall at 6 to 9 inch intervals. Curl back plastic slightly and tap anchors into each hole in the wall. Put shield back over anchors and secure plastic with a screw and washer.

Will kittens be able to climb on it? They scale up the gates I have, trying to fix it without having to replace them.

It is entirely dependent on the behavior of your cat, it may be able to climb the shield protector. It is a very smooth, slick surface, but a determined cat could possibly do so.

Is it bite, puncture resistant from a cat dog or ferret?

This product has not been tested for that concern, however, the manufacturer has not received any complaints regarding pets puncturing the product.

Does the package include any screw or anchor for mounting it on dry wall ?

Not quite tall enough

These aren't long enough to keep my kitties from jumping over them. They do in fact help protect them from falling through the banister (which I'm honestly not sure

These aren't long enough to keep my kitties from jumping over them. They do in fact help protect them from falling through the banister (which I'm honestly not sure they would do anyway) but I was hoping they would be convincing enough to keep them from jumping up onto the banister. They unfortunately are not and there isn't enough in the package for me to double-up and put two up to cover up a higher section. For $35 (which is what I believe I bought them for) they don't work as I would hope they would. It honestly would be better for me to have just put up cardboard.

I bought this item many years ago, and I still have it to this day. I ended up using it to line a cat gate so that way the cats couldn’t climb it. I used an industrial hole punch and then I zip tied it to the gate. I still have some roll left after many years. It’s a great thing to use to try to line a gate so your cats can’t climb up it, as well as trying to guard them from a banister. I’ve used it every time I’ve gotten a new cat so that way they can see each other, but not get to each other until they get used to each other and they can live together peacefully.

Very Helpful!

We have very wide bannister poles on our second floor overlooking the first floor. We just rescued two tiny kittens and they think the overhang is a jungle gym

I am very pleased with this product. I used it along the banister in an upstairs hallway to keep the kitten from falling or accidentally down to the lower floor
