What is the maximum tension rating on the duck weave? I have an issue with a velociraptor of a bluenose pit whom regularly snaps braided steel cable runners attached to her collar. I'm not opposed to trying this leash but it would be better to know more about it so I'd know what to expect.

Answer by ChewyAug 26, 2021
Carhartt's testing standard for a shock-absorbing leash is to withstand a pull force of 150 pounds. They do exceed that, but do not have a "maximum" result on file.

What is the D ring for?

Answer by ChewyJan 20, 2025
The D-ring allows for various adjustable attachment options like poop bag holders, treat pouches, and more.

How long is the leash? 48 inches or less?

Answer by ChewyDec 08, 2019
This leash measures approximately 6 feet long (72 inches).

Could this clipped around your waist for hands free walking/ running?

Answer by ChewyJul 30, 2020
This leash is not designed to be used around the waist. It has a an elastic shock-control zone for greater flexibility, a lined handle for increased comfort, and a bottom handle for more control.

Easy to hook on to small loop on harness

This leash is a bit longer than I had wanted but I was able to shorten it by looping it and attaching it to the handle from another leash i alreasy had. I really love the shock absorbing feature as my dog tends to pull and this leash lessens that getting yanked sensation. I also really like the way the hardware opens up. It is more like a claw and is easy for my 87 year old Mom to use. I thi k this is better suited for a bigger dog as the leash is thick and the harware can feel heavy but I am very happy using it on my 17 lb dog.

Great Leash

I have a strong little dachshund that pulls. This leash has the shock absorber built in! No more sore shoulders for me. I love it and it was well worth the money

junk compared to the Kong bungee leash

The webbing and bungee (shock absorber) on this product are good, but the hardware is cheap and fails after a few months. Kong makes a much higher quality product

Overall Great

The bungee is feature is great really controls pulling dogs. Can be wrapped around your waist for hand free walking/running. The clasp is a bit prone to coming off

The bungee is feature is great really controls pulling dogs. Can be wrapped around your waist for hand free walking/running. The clasp is a bit prone to coming off at the collar if the right angle is put on it. I’ve found that using a Carhartt brand collar or harness helps with this.

Good Looks Bad Function

Thoughts I’d get carhartt for my blue collar dog. The harness and leash look great, but the function is terrible. The latch will open anytime pressure is applied

Thoughts I’d get carhartt for my blue collar dog. The harness and leash look great, but the function is terrible. The latch will open anytime pressure is applied to the side. Actually such an issue that my vet even warned me about it as well.

Not good

When walking my dog who pulls, this leash would extend to a longer length, it is hard to control her

Safety concerns

The attachment piece they use can be stretched/opened with force. Dog was able to get a bit tangled and the leash clasp was unhooked and he got loose. Throwing away
