Do you walk over it or is there a door?

You can either step over the gate or disconnect it from the wall to gain access to the other side.

Will the gate stay in place without screwing in the bumpers if fitted snugly between the two walls?

This gate does not require the bumpers to be screwed into place and will fit snugly if correctly installed.

Does the small door have a latch, or does it somehow lock in place, to keep it closed if you don’t want smaller animals to be able to pass thru??

Not really impressed with the way that it tightens. It tightens, but then loosens if you turn it one more time. There is a part that does not tighten with it,

Not really impressed with the way that it tightens. It tightens, but then loosens if you turn it one more time. There is a part that does not tighten with it, and I believe it is supposed to. I bought it to keep my dogs out of a room that I let my cat go in, but the dogs can also get through the gate..LOL they are as small as the cat, so the cat just jumps over it because I keep the gate closed.

Won’t trip you

Love the gate because it’s easy to step over without tripping, but it also keeps my dogs away from the cat area. The door is a perfect-size for the cats to come

Love the gate because it’s easy to step over without tripping, but it also keeps my dogs away from the cat area. The door is a perfect-size for the cats to come and go as they please and again keep the dogs out. It’s also just tall enough that my Frenchie can’t over it to get to the cat food.

(my dog is the same size as the cat so the pass through door doesn't help) I wish it had a gate opening I could go through so that I didn't have to step over it but that is only available on much taller gates.
