Immediately fell on my puppy
I got this thinking it would stay up properly, set it up per instructions and it flipped and fell on my small puppy. She was ok but definitely traumatized, she won't go near it, and we had to replace it with something not nearly as heavy and concussing.
Perfect fit
These gates are a perfect fit and just the right size for my four small dogs. They were a great solution for my kitchen and dining room doors.
Repurposing Gate
I've had a Carlson Per Door For a while and It has Worked perfectly. So, when I had a need to add a window fan to eliminate the odor that comes with new kittens and multi litter boxes. Well what greater oportunity for the adult cats to escape the room and the house. I tried a number of adjustable screens only to see the cats claw their way over and/or through the screens. Then the light came on in my head. Why now try a pet gate. I did and it works great. The fan runs and keeps the air fresh and the Pet Door keeps to cats indoors.
Worked great then got tricky
I was very happy with this gate at first, it's sturdy and seems easy to use. But after using it a few times the mechanism to tighten it got wonky. It still works, but I have to fiddle with it a lot.
Great gate but not for kitten
This gate was easy to put up. Very sturdy. However I had bought this gate specifically for a 10 week old kitten. The info said the bars were 1 1/2 inches apart which was the closest together I could find and small enough to keep the kitten from getting through. I Put it up and my kitten tried every space to see if she could fit and found two she could get through. I then measured and two spaces are 2 inches and the rest are 1 3/4 inches. Once she’s a little bigger it will work better. Didn’t work for what I needed but I would recommend this gate. Very easy to use and quite sturdy. Chewy was great to work with and refunded my money quickly.
Easy to use
Once you understand to move into a slot and then twist to tighten, it's easy to open and lock the little doggie door on the bottom. I used this gate to block off my laundry room for puppy play (beginning at 8 weeks old). The only thing that didn't work well was the spring attached to the lock on the little doggy door part. Even when the spring was damaged, the lock still worked to corral the puppies.
Don’t waste your money
The black rubber things on the ends to brace against the doorway extend beyond the maximum width of the locking rod. Can’t keep in position.
Excellent Buy
The gate looks great. It is easy to install. The small door allows our cats through but keeps the dogs out. Good purchase.
Not Tall Enough
Even though the gate is sturdy it wasn't tall enough and the puppies were jumping over it like they were a circus act. So I had to remove it and put taller objects they couldn't jump over.
I love it! Works like a charm
This doggy gate was so easy to assemble. It's sturdy and does the job of keeping my fur baby in a specific area of the house.
